“ Great Sermon! ”
Truly, there is nothing new under the sun! God brings about similar historical circumstances in the progressing eras of history because man's fallen nature is the same in every era, and therefore the same lessons need to be taught, generation after generation. A great lesson from church history!

Sermon:
Safety In The Father's Love
Rev David Silversides

“ Great Sermon! ”
"Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Luke 12:32 The Christian believer possesses safety and security in the love of God the Father, both for time, and for eternity. What an immense blessing and privilege this is, and how we should rest securely in it, trusting our Heavenly Father for all things, and praising and glorifying Him for His amazing goodness and love towards us!

Sermon:
The 2nd Commandment
Gavin Beers
1
comment
“ Excellent Sermon! ”
"If it be inquired, then, by what things chiefly the Christian religion has a standing existence amongst us, and maintains its truth, it will be found that the following two not only occupy the principal place, but comprehend under them all the other parts, and consequently the whole substance of Christianity; a knowledge, first, of the mode in which God is duly worshipped; and, secondly, of the source from which salvation is to be obtained." In our humanistic, man-centered age, these words of John Calvin seem strange. We consider the salvation of men to be of supreme importance, and the worship of God to be a means to this end. However, this is a backwards view of things, which must be abandoned. We are saved in order that we might worship the true and living God in Spirit and in truth, according to His own appointment, and not according to our own desires. Pastor Beers clearly sets forth the requirements of the Second Commandment, which forbids anything in the worship of God not expressly appointed by God Himself. Be sure to listen to this critically important sermon!

Since God has foreordained all things, why does He command us to pray? This sermon answers this question about prayer, and many more. Very helpful!

Although Tertullian, Cyprian, and Origen made valuable contributions to the church, they also planted seeds which would yield bad fruit in later times. How carefully we should walk, knowing that the errors of even godly men can lead to negative consequences!

How we need to walk by faith, and not by sight! The Kingdom of Jesus Christ has already grown tremendously, and will continue to grow until it has conquered the whole earth! "All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations." Psalm 22:27-28

If we took covenant-breaking more seriously, would we make a more serious inquiry into the relationship of the Solemn League and Covenant to our nations today, and perhaps even consider whether the judgments which are befalling us are in consequence of our covenant-breaking?

Our God shows His care for even the most insignificant of His creations, and promises to provide for the needs of all His children. Yet we are still plagued with sinful anxieties about His provision for us. This sermon gives excellent instruction on how to mortify this sin of habitual anxiety.

The U.S. is a troubled nation facing many serious problems, and many believe its very existence is under threat. Could it be that we are under the judgment of God for our covenant breaking?

This sermon offers clear and convincing evidence that the United States is the same moral person as the British colonies which existed before the Declaration of Independence, and is therefore still bound by the Solemn League and Covenant!
