“ Great Sermon! ”
Reuben's life shows us that God is merciful to His erring children, and yet sin has consequences, both for one's self and for one's family, as well as for the church of God. We must fly to God, relying on His mercy and grace alone for the forgiveness of our sins, and pleading His mercy not only for ourselves, but also for those with whom we are in covenant relationship.

“ Great Sermon! ”
A very helpful, practical sermon full of necessary instruction regarding the Christian's use of social networking sites. The rules which govern the use of our tongues also govern what we write on-line! "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." Ephesians 4:29-32

“ Important Sermon! ”
Important warning about the dangers of the internet, especially social media and iphones. I knew there were many problems with this kind of technology, but the statistics Pastor Murray shared were both shocking and overwhelming. Everyone should be aware of this data, and take it into serious consideration when making decisions about internet use!

The Biblical Doctrine of the Atonement
Rev David Silversides

“ Great Sermon! ”
"Christ died and rose again for us." Theological liberals, Jehovah's Witnesses, Roman Catholics, prosperity gospel preachers and others all use language which sounds evangelical, yet when they use these words they do not mean what the Bible means by them. Pastor Silversides teaches the true meaning of the atonement from the Bible so that we need not be deceived. "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." II Corinthians 11:3

Men hide from God in their ideological strongholds, and it is the duty of the Christian soldier to tear down those strongholds with the spiritual weapons our King has provided! Excellent exhortation to this important duty!

Scotland: A Covenanted Land?
Kenneth Stewart

“ Outstanding Sermon! ”
I appreciated many things about this sermon, but especially the following three points: 1.) Simplicity of presentation. It's an understandable introduction to covenanting for those who have no prior knowledge of the topic, and also a great review of the basics for those with more knowledge. 2.) As an American Covenanter, I was glad to hear the discussion of the relationship of the Solemn League and Covenant to the U.S. 3.)The hopeful remarks near the end of the sermon concerning God's reluctance to let go of His covenanted people. Looking at our nations today, it is easy to despair and lose hope that we will ever return to the Lord Jesus. But surely God will yet deal in mercy towards us!

Sermon:
The Christian and the Ten Commandments
Rev David Silversides
1
comment
“ Excellent Sermon! ”
This sermon offers thorough Scriptural teaching concerning the Christian's relationship to the Ten Commandments. There is much confusion in today's church on this subject, and many have embraced the false doctrine of antinomianism, which teaches that believers are not obligated to keep God's law as a rule of life. Pastor Silversides soundly confutes this heresy, showing that a Christian will keep God's law as an expression of love for his Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sermon:
Relativism
Gavin Beers
1
comment
“ Great Lecture! ”
Why is our society falling apart? The reason is that we have rejected the absolute truth of God in favor of relativism. Relativism teaches that there is no absolute truth and that each one must find truth and meaning within himself. But is it absolutely true that there is no absolute truth? The denial of absolute truth is logically impossible, yet 98% of college students do not believe there are any absolutes. This belief that each one must find truth within himself is the cause of much of the absurdity we see in our society as well as the purposelessness, despair, and culture of death which surround us. "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." Proverbs 14:12 It is only the Bible and the God of the Bible that provide the absolutes, and hence the stability, necessary to combat the deadly consequences of relativism. Do not be as Pilate, who with the very incarnation of truth standing before him asked, "What is truth?" and then turned away from Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth and the Life! Come to Jesus Christ and build your life on the absolutes of His Word to discover truth, meaning, and purpose in life!

“ Well-balanced and Clear! ”
"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified." (Romans 8:29-30) The Bible plainly teaches election and predestination. But how may one know if he's elect? Before conversion, no man can know whether or not he is elect. It is only by believing on Christ for salvation that one may know that he is among the elect of God. Listen to this sermon to learn more about this important truth!

Sermon:
Experts Under Wrath
Rev David Silversides

comment
“ Great Sermon! ”
Rather than hypocritically challenge the truth of God's Word with insincere questions and objections, we must, with humility and meekness, seek the truth as God has revealed it to us. Just as the Pharisees were never able to win in their verbal contests with Christ, so will we also come out the losers if we attempt to argue with God. Rather than engage in what is sure to be a losing battle, why not simply put your faith in Christ, forsake your sin, and know the blessedness of friendship with Him eternally?

“ Great Sermon! ”
The belief that matter is all that exists has become dominant in our society. Our thoughts, emotions, and desires are all viewed as mere products of chemical reactions in our bodies. But is this consistent with reality, or is it man's delusional attempt to hide from the greatest reality, the living and true God? This attempt to deny reality and hide from God is at the root of man's restlessness and self-destruction, and can only be remedied by turning to the Lord Jesus Christ in faith and repentance. “Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee.”― Augustine

Abortion: is it murder?
Rev David Silversides

“ Absolute Truth About Abortion! ”
Does human life begin at conception? Must life be protected, even at its earliest stages? The Bible's answer to these questions is an unequivocal "Yes!" Our nation has been denying these truths for forty-five years, but God's Word remains the same. To continue to pollute the land with the blood of our own children is to invite further judgments from God as His wrath is increasingly kindled against us. May He have mercy on us....

Rev David Silversides

“ Great Sermon! ”
The Lord Jesus is the source of truth. It does not lie in the world, or in your heart, or in your feelings, or in religion, but in Him. Trust in the Lord Jesus and be not confounded! He is the way, the truth, and the life; believe on Him and be set free.

Sermon:
Knowing The Times
Gavin Beers

“ Great Sermon! ”
We all live in a postmodern age, an age in which faith and reason have been cast aside. Being led by our feelings, the individual has become the arbiter of truth and reality, and the idea of absolute, universal truth has been dismissed from our consciousness. This postmodern worldview is a massive failure as can be observed in high suicide rates, the drug addiction problem, the dissolution of the family, and the confusion which surrounds even the most basic elements of personality such as gender and sexual orientation. We have now become as gods, determining good and evil for ourselves, and what foolish and absurd gods we are! Postmodernism has led many to despair and hopelessness, a sense that nothing is really real. What is the answer? It is Jesus Christ, the only sure foundation in a world without an anchor. It is the Bible, God's absolute truth, which teaches us all that we need to repent of our delusions and turn to Jesus Christ. Reject the weak and uncertain foundation of post-modernism, and instead build your life on the only sure foundation of Jesus Christ and His Word. "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock." Matthew 7:24

Sermon:
Should churches have a creed?
Rev David Silversides
1
comment
“ Great Sermon! ”
"Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus." (II Timothy 1:13) Not only should churches have a creed, every church and every Christian does, in fact, have one. The creed may be good or bad, written down or merely held in the mind, but even the statement, "No creed but the Bible," is a statement of belief, and therefore a creed. Creeds provide a summary of what a church believes the Bible teaches and are therefore necessary to a church's testimony. They are also useful as an aid in instructing Christians in biblical truth. Yes! Churches should have creeds!
