Mike, I suppose I've learned some things and interpreted them in a way I shouldn't have. Maybe then I'd be of different mind on the matter. Finally getting to near 0 here the last few nights. But yes, this is January...supposedly the coldest month of the year up here. Spring is my favorite season and it's almost just around the corner. The sauna suffices nicely for heat withdrawals in the middle of a cold winter, however . Lovin' it just like it is....keep the aerosols away from me .

I suppose I would love it too....at the equator. The weather here is nice, too: 110 in the summer; 0 in winter; I'm lovin' it, and thus no more aerosols needed.

Bro Williams,
"But, if global warming means weather is going to be this nice year-round then I am all for putting everything in an aerosol can."

Um, what religion are you? What book do you follow?

Maybe I've misunderstood you. Perhaps you mean to put everything in aerosol cans and permanently cap the cans.

"Southern Baptist Convention policy against hiring foreign missionary candidates who have ecstatic utterances in private prayer."

The SBC sure cherishes its man-made traditions.

Good try, Peter, but global warming doesn't necessarily mean the end of winter. On the contrary it can cause more intense cold spells due to how the whole thing works: increased heating in the lower layers and cooling up above and sooner or later something gives. The colder and denser air will pay you a visit at eye level. Good to see some Christians taking a stand to reduce pollution and improve health overall. For the others I can only give them a

Albert,

"If you say your christian then obey the bible and answer with truth."

We do. I'm assuming you'd like to forbid tongues. Do you obey this: "Forbid not to speak with tongues." And "Tongues shall cease." Where's the date they'll cease, since you're apparently a cessasionist? You like to resort to the "babble" idea, but have you documented and speak all known languages? Keep trying.

Blah, Blah,
I don't believe Apostle Paul is still alive. He said tongues would cease, true, but he didn't say tongues would cease along with him or anybody else. Still waiting for the date...??????

Got myself a Bible and I read it faithfully...at least the whole New Testament once a year..for some reason I don't see the cessasionist viewpoint in there, but if I had a study Bible with a cessasionist bend, I could see what happens. I think I'll pass on that one. It sounds like it takes more than Scripture Alone to convert one to cessasionism.

Just one question for the non-babblers(Albert?): Where's the date tongues ceased? Where does it say tongues ceased with the Apostles? Granted, Apostle Paul said they will cease.....but when? Cessasionists say it already happened. Ok, let's see the details on that date .

Date, Blah Blah? Name of day, day of month, etc. Which Apostle? There were twelve. Did they die all at the exact same time and the Bible specifically gives the details? So what languages do you speak? I'm multilingual also.

Blah Blah,
Surely you have that date, in the Bible, when tongues ceased.

Well, Neil, assuming those are his words, that's too bad for him. However, I don't disagree with his socio-political views.

Well, there were critics on the Day of Pentecost and there are critics today. Nothing new under the sun..."Forbid not to speak with tongues..." I know that's not really true..... Who ya kiddin' now? Is the Bible just a mumble jumble of words which really don't mean what they say? Sure, tongues will cease, but when? Give me a date, please, dear cessasionists and I'll convert immediately....after you find that date in the Bible, that is. It's recorded historic Protestants and ancient Christian groups had the Holy Spirit in manifestation: Huguenots, Moravians, etc...clearly orthodox Protestants and pre-Protestant believers. Oh well, there will always be critics.

Well, John, maybe you need to investigate why. I have no problem with MLK....maybe a change of viewpoints would help. He had a point to make and I'm glad he did it even if it cost him his life.

Chris,
you're probably right about Americans' viewpoint of marriage---simply for sexual pleasure. Just look at all the immorality birth control and abortions. Shows how corrupted many are.

JD,
I appreciate the input even if we aren't in total agreement. Thank you.

Last to Know,
I understand the viewpoints you've mentioned and they may be true. We shall see in due time.

Mainline Protestants are getting left behind, because it's basically impossible to identify them as Protestants anymore as they are lending more attention to humanistic literature instead of the scriptures alone and that literally. Part of the apostacy of the last days.

DB,
I was just thinking about this. Imagine the look on those mormon ladies' if I asked them if they were post-trib or pre-trib....I suppose this is the equivalent expression I'd see: Just a thought....One thing the lady who approached me was definitely convinced of is the validity of the Book of Mormon. I was going to give them some of my own literature upon my return, but they were gone....I went searching, but I suppose they were attempting to spread heresy behind closed doors of some house in the neighborhood.

Perhaps, DB, my line of thought is different from most post-tribbers. For me it's like this: Hell doesn't care when the rapture is, post or pre; hell is real and people will go there now and later regardless. Whether the rapture is now or 1,000 years from now doesn't concern me, but two things do: 1. Jesus is coming back at an unknown time 2. People go to hell every day if they die and don't have their sins forgiven, and that happens independently of anybody's position about Christ's return, whether pre-trib or post-trib.

I wonder if this "new Baptist voice" will become a new baptist denomination...maybe it will be the gathering of the true baptists?
