Good distinction between rain forest and jungle, Mike. I live in a jungle and I'd much prefer a rain forest....better yet a pine forest.

Mike,
You taking some college English? Anyway, good dissection of the article. So we've got a source, sources, this one, that one.....which one? I think I'll go with the senior sources.

Mike, I think something way into the future would be better...... And what's the significance of April 1? Isn't that April Fools Day? I suppose if the clouds are speaking spanish we'd both be alarmed, cessasionist or not . However, if your weather forcast holds true, they'll be among the frozen chosen before long .(Don't take this personally, please!)

"Camping: God is on the radio, not in church"

Heretic.

"Camping wants Christians to stop going to church."

Make that a heretic times two. The guy has a severe problem and knows not what the church is.

Mark,
You're right. I've been waiting for a cessasionist to give the exact date the gifts ceased. Still waiting, and always will be because the only thing the Bible says is "they will cease." Another thing I'm waiting for is somebody to give full proof they have documented every world language and can therefore prove without a doubt speaking in tongues is gibberish...I'll be waiting a long time. If the cessasionists or anti-tongues people have it all figured out, why are they even here posting extrabiblical words? But this leads to a new and unbiblical doctrine among them: Certain gifts ceased but others didn't. Error begets error.

GG, you are right about the beef tongue. Come on out here...I'll take you to a place which serves up the best tongue this side of the Rockies . How do they serve it south of Mason-Dixon?

Good try, Pistol Pete, but.......... about Paul and prayers for him. Of course if you believe in praying for the dead, have at it. If ya don't, then don't. Simple. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Right? Sure. "Forbid not to speak with tongues" Ah, now hold it here, that ain't true. Who ya kiddin' now? Then what can we believe? Or what can we dispense with? Cafeteria religion sure is nice, ain't it? YOu're welcome to it, Pete, but I'll avoid the cafeteria religion.

"Spurgeon and Jonathan Edwards exercised the spectacular gifts!"

From what I've seen of Spurgeon, I'd have to say he wrote fairy tales also.

“They’re out of touch with the text and the times,” he said of denomination leaders who have taken an “anti-tongues” line."

He's right.

"some Baptists have joined McKissic in opposing a Southern Baptist Convention policy against hiring foreign missionary candidates who have ecstatic utterances in private prayer. ..."

Good.

Evolution's many broken links. And to think I came across a person's website which implies people who believe the Bible literally will be hindered from success....what a joke!

Robert, what's so amazing about sermon audio permitting tongues. Check out the Bible: "Forbid not to speak with tongues." Simple as John 3:16, or can we not believe it?

John Yurich,
What volume of scripture did you get that doctrine from? Compare that to my post below and we sound vastly different..one must be right, one wrong; one bringing forgiveness, the other a false sense of security while still unsaved. You must rethink and not spread a false sense of security. Study those scriptures I posted and see if Jesus or the Apostles tell people to grab a bit of forgiveness with a prayer.

Mike, must be the el nino or la nina..I don't know of any other major weather patterns with Spanish names......lol...I suppose we are under some spanish weather influence here also, however, it's starting to feel more like january now. I suppose Spanish moss on trees here may be a cause for alarm, if such is a Spanish weather phenomenon..lol .

Unless they've been forgiven in the manner ordained by the Lord, they won't be saved, regardless of how many churches they've joined or how many times baptized. However, for those rightly forgiven and baptized, there is a good promise: "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." The thing you need to ask yourself is, have you been forgiven in the Christ-ordained manner(John 20:23, Acts 2:38, 13:38; 10:43), do you know for a surety you are forgiven and have peace with God. If not, you won't be saved regardless of church membership and baptismal certificates stacked up as thick as the Bible itself.

Eight kids? I know of families with twice that and one with almost three times that.

Good to see people opposing abortion and birth control...both are wrong and cause the downfall of a nation and supposed "christian" church which sanction such things.
