Yamil Luciano said:"I believe the Bible not YOU. So you can stop trying to take its place." Great. I wasn't trying to take the Bible's place. Concerning John 10:26, I simply quoted the verse and confessed that I used to believe the truth was vice-versa. |

ml: Spurgeon argued that the total number of elect would be greater than the number of non-elect, and I think he based his reasoning on the idea that God should have the preeminence in dominion and glory. I think also he believed that every infant that dies (admittedly an inestimable number) is elect and goes to heaven (thereby helping to explain the superior number of elect versus non-elect).I respectfully disagree with Spurgeon here, because I note that as for living believers in OT times, God never had more than a remnant, that I can tell, and that was according to His plan. I also consider the story of Noah and his family, being eight saved alone in the Flood. Also, I have difficulty being assured that every single infant that dies goes to heaven, because of the idea of original sin. If babies do not die because of sin, then why do they die? How can I be assured that every infant that dies is elect? I cannot be, though I reason that some probably are. I would rather believe what Spurgeon believed about this, but I just can't see it as of yet. |

No, no, coora. I'm sure that verse says he was a peaceful and cooperative man, just like his descendants today. Go back and read it again. |
