Well, the Internet is a good resource if you are in a technical field of work (or currently, education, like I am) with a lot of good (but often dated) material available online. There is actually a fair amount of quality theological content to be found too (bring your own processing sieve, however). But it can be the source of much temptation and darkness.

There are times from my perspective when the Internet looks like a vast information wasteland with the occasional oasis of data and the all too frequent cesspools of advertising. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right places. There is a lot of good content out there, but some of it lives on pages that have already observed several birthdays.

It is very frustrating (though not at all surprising) to me that the media cast Biblical views in a negative light with use of such phrases as, "anti-gay." A few years ago, I would have responded to this with the phrase "pro-marriage" and "pro-family" but now I have to qualify those terms with "heterosexual" and "morally upright" (even "legally united" is no longer enough). If our nation hadn't lost its morality and sanity, terms such as pro-marriage and pro-family wouldn't need the above qualifiers which should be redundant. What a sad state my beloved America is in! I believe God's judgment on her has already started (signs such as the outright mockery of God and the refusal to repent are clear indicators).

Jim Lincoln of Nebraska:

Unfortunately, you're right. However, we have a few theologically solid churches as well (my church that I belong to being one of them, I hope). However, I am deeply disappointed that gross sodomy and spiritual adultery seem to prosper in my state.

Remember that rampant homosexuality and unrepentant sodomites are nothing new. 2 Kings 23:7 for example, discusses the presence of the same within the context of the gross idolatry of Israel. It should be no surprise to us, then, that the nations of Europe, or even my own nation here in the USA, can descend into foul sexual abominations after rejecting and rebelling against the holy and good commandments of God.

Albert Mohler has been misrepresented by several people on the Internet, and I found his follow-up to the original article to be very helpful in understanding where he is coming from.

Yes, that's right. Automatically dismiss someone simply because they're "from the Linux crowd" (which by the way, you merely assumed without knowing factually). There are several good reasons to be less than thrilled with Microsoft, and to enjoy a bit of well-deserved comeuppance for unfair business practices and such which have allegedly generated said profitability. For the record, I am "from the Linux crowd," but I'm not completely anti-Microsoft (I use both; however, I am justifiably critical in ethical areas as I gain more information about the company). And, I want to give you a friendly invitation to at least investigate Linux and see what all the "fuss" is about before dismissing it out of hand. You might be surprised.

It's not surprising that those who deny the Son, and do not have the Father either (1 John 2:23), would also doubt the prophets sent before Christ, such as Moses. Judaism is an apostate, illegitimate religion. And without Christ Israel has nothing.

“ Great Sermon! ”
I must echo and affirm the previous comment. I believe God providentially led me to this sermon. This sermon can help a great many Christians in their walk for Christ.

While I can think of no absolute Scriptural prohibition against marriage of two people that far apart in age, a warning is certainly in order. Sexuality is a very powerful force, and its abuse has ruined (and continues to ruin) many people's lives. 1 Kings 11:3 makes the following comment about Solomon, "And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart" (from the Lord). I cannot help but think this marriage (though legitimate in and of itself as a formal union of two peoples) most likely has nothing really to do with holiness before God.

Well, the UK certainly has deep spiritual problems. People bend over backwards to protect the minority rights of the homosexuals. The only problem is, these so-called "rights" were manufactured into existence in the first place. Disobedience to the Word of God and to His established natural order has never been a right of man, and never will be. Romans 1 is an excellent chapter on the darkness in the mind of man. And I personally am of the opinion that this entire situation itself is a form of God's judgment on society, an evidence of divine wrath.

The fundamental motive here seems to be "anything to justify unbelief in God."

sarcasm: on

Yeah, I saw all of this on the evening news. Several times in fact. The newscasters even seemed genuinely sorry for the plight of Christians around the world, and made no apologies for the time spent in news coverage of these issues. I'm so glad that the mainstream media cares.

sarcasm: off

Well, guess I won't be hearing about this on TV any time soon, now will I?

My fear is this: what's next?!?!

I'm not nearly as shocked over this as I should be. I just kind of shrug, perhaps shake my head in sadness, and go on about my day. Surprising? Surely. Shocking? No, not really. I have to remind myself to be shocked, and that's a shame.

But really, what's next? With growing acceptance of homosexuality and polyamorous relationships, I do not even want to speculate on forthcoming perversions.

Really. What's next?!?!

God have mercy on us all!
