This probably isn't the best place to post this - so Admins, feel free to move it - but the new black font for the sermon titles just doesn't look right against the light, blue-grey background.

Maybe Danae can now join the Women of Faith dames along with Barbara Johnson, Patsy Clairmont, Lucy Swindoll et al.

I don't normally quote popular evangelicals, but I think this quote by Luci Swindoll is very appropriate:

"God is from the South, and He loves the rest of ya sort of."

We need more Black Robed Regiment preachers and fewer of these 501(c)(3) sold-out hirelings.

I prefer my preacher to be outspoken. I just want him to be biblically outspoken!

The same infantile cry to ban divorce is the same which desired to ban slavery. Never mind the fact that while both are undesirable, the Word of God sanctions and regulates both.

Yeah, I'm with SBGG. Maybe Joyce Meyer can take over or one of the women who was on the cover of Charisma magazine a few months ago when they did a feature on preacherinas.

If he's such a believer in evil being stopped, then why didn't he STOP himself from writing those junk books?

Many of us like you, Brother Kenny. We don't want to see you baked in an oven!

I agree, Jim. I'm fed up with American evangelicalism.

This is sad but not surprising at all. And we'll see more of it for sure.

I like it! Usually the stuff I see on Church building marquises makes me sick - sentimental Jesus in Your Heart junk.

This one is good!

I disagree, Bill. The first red president was Abraham Lincoln.

I believe it. What's also sad is the increasing numbers of people who take pills for mental/emotional problems. Even in our churches a number of adults and children are on medication for ADD/ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. It's sad.

Yes, John Paul came through loud and clear. Great post and complete agreement from here as well.

Yes Michael, you are correct. Those views are pervasive, and it's very frustrating. We just have to keep demonstrating the truth from scripture and being willing to stand for what is right.

Mike, I just meant that these people act all religious during their candidacy in order to get votes. Then when they're in their belief in the sovereignty of God and in righteousness goes right out the window.

Actually I would be happier if she denied God's Hand in the election. I prefer that people be honest.

It seems that with the Purpose Driven Life the quality of Reformed Christian books in general has depreciated considerably. I was at a Reformed Church conference a few years ago and couldn't find one book I even wanted for free, much less spend 10 bucks on. Usually at a Reformed Church book table there are some books featuring the writings of the Puritans, or Van Til's writings. Nothing. They were all these books with hip, emotionally charged, sensitive titles which are starting to look and sound a lot like mainstream Christian Bookstore stuff by Zondervan and Baker. They've all taken on this postmodern, effeminate and condescending tone. They certainly don't use the KJV and most don't even use even the NKJV anymore. They're all into the ESV now.

And even a lot of the good books remaining are written by authors who see God's Law as a guide for Christian morality, but not for society's. The Ten Commandments are viewed as the law in exclusion to Biblical Case laws. The Ten Commandments are not the Law! They are a summary of the Law.

There were some Doug Wilson books there, but that's a different topic entirely.

This may seem like nitpicking, but it makes the difference between reading something by Thomas Brooks or Samuel Rutherford and these soft PCA-type guys.
