“ Great Sermon! ”
What a wonderful message, convicting of self examination. Messages of repentance aren't heard much today, sadly.

Thank you for the blessing of this sermon and the ones prior on Building God's House. Wish it wasn't such a far commute!

It amazes me how many professing Christians have never read the Bible, especially in countries where they are readily and cheaply available. How can we know how to live as Christians if we don't? Also, how can we discern false teaching if we don't know what the truth is by having read it ourselves? "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" 2 Timothy 3:15-17

There are now a few very good children's adaptations of Pilgrim's Progress. Abeka has one in their third grade curriculum that is excellent. My son has read it twice and really enjoyed it. My husband borrowed it and enjoyed it too.

1 Thes. 5:22 to “Abstain from all appearance of evil”. Not just simply all evil, but all appearance of evil. In other words, not even pretend evil or things associated with evil. That definitely includes Halloween.

The fact that this day is targeted mostly at children and young adults shows how desperate Satan is. He is going around the parents directly to the kids. Children are the least able to recognize evil. Parents want to please their kids so they turn a blind eye in the name of “harmless fun” to the evil that is Halloween. “Little children, let no man deceive you” 1 John 3:7. Yet, that is exactly what we are allowing Halloween to do.

None of the above. Anabaptist (similar to Amish and Mennonites) although our church is independent, non-denominational. We believe in woman's headcovering, modesty of dress and speech, believer baptism upon profession of faith, headship order, as well as the trinity, Jesus as Lord and Savior, and full Biblical obedience (especially NT). Heaven and Hell are real places. Everyone will eventually spend eternity in one or the other. We are saved through profession of faith in Jesus, and show our faith through our actions (works).

The college computer lab where I worked was one of the test platforms for the early Netscape in the mid-90's. I got an error message once when they were testing banner ads, "Can't choose advertisement. Aborting." It then crashed the computer. LOL

$3.32 in Fairbanks (even though we're only 10 miles from the refinery getting crude right off the Alaska pipeline). The highest is $4.98 in Bethel! (see www.alaskagasprices.com/index.asp for the latest high/low reported prices)

The beginning of Peak Oil is upon us. Prices will continue to rise as supply fluctuates and eventually terminally declines. The US production peaked then declined in the 70's and now Mexico is peaking. The Middle East is next. The Trans-Alaska oil pipeline is now down to only 60% of capacity flow since we peaked in the 90's. Google "Hubbert's Peak" for more info about peak oil. Several of the big oil companies have recently acknowledged we are at Peak Oil with both supplies and discoveries falling.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Pastor Jim has a unique way of expounding the scriptures. This message revived my heart.
