The problem with the WCF, like I've said before, is that it will say something asinine
The great and grace thing about the WCF writers, like the Puritans and all the other Calvinists in history is that they could read the Bible and receive the truth. The problem you Arminians have is that works based religious theory doesn't work.

John Owen said, “There is not only a moral, but a physical immediate operation of the Spirit...upon the minds or souls of men in their regeneration...The work of grace in conversion is constantly expressed by words denoting a real internal efficacy; such as creating, quickening, forming, giving a new heart...Wherever this work is spoken of with respect unto an active efficacy, it is ascribed to God. He creates us anew, he quickens us, he begets us of His own will; but when it is spoken of with respect to us, there it is passively expressed; we are created in Christ Jesus, we are new creatures, we are born again, and the like; which one observation is sufficient to avert the whole hypothesis of Arminian grace.” (Works, ed. Russell 1,1, II. 369).

do you think the angels had a major choice in their eventual fate
GOD is sovereign in Heaven, hell and earth, all of creation. Election and reprobation are terms which qualify the combined end result of all created creatures.

WCF 3:3. By the decree of God, for the manifestation of his glory, some men and angels[a] are predestinated unto everlasting life, and others fore-ordained to everlasting death.[b]

a. Mat 25:41; 1 Tim 5:21. • b. Prov 16:4; Rom 9:22-23; Eph 1:5-6.

4. These angels and men, thus predestinated and fore-ordained, are particularly and unchangeably designed; and their number is so certain and definite that it can not be either increased or diminished.[a]

a. John 13:18; 2 Tim 2:19

People obtain salvation
God calls and elects alone.
This is not a response to the "nice" sinner (who strangely has the ability to do) it is Gods will and purpose alone regardless of what the sinner does.

WCF 10
"All those whom God hath predestinated unto life, and those only, he is pleased, in his appointed and accepted time, effectually to call,a by his Word and Spirit,b out of that state of sin and death, in which they are by nature, to grace and salvation by Jesus Christ;c enlightening their minds, spiritually and savingly, to understand the things of God;d taking away their heart of stone, and giving unto them an heart of flesh;e renewing their wills, and by his almighty power determining them to that which is good,f and effectually drawing them to Jesus Christ;g yet so as they come most freely, being made willing by his grace.h"

a. Rom 8:30; 11:7; Eph 1:10-11. • b. 2 Cor 3:3, 6; 2 Thes 2:13-14. • c. Rom 8:2; Eph 2:1-5; 2 Tim 1:9-10. • d. Acts 26:18; 1 Cor 2:10, 12; Eph 1:17-18. • e. Ezek 36:26. • f. Deut 30:6; Ezek 11:19; 36:27; Phil 2:13. • g. John 6:44-45; Eph 1:19. • h. Psa 110:3; Song 1:4; John 6:37; Rom 6:16-18.

John Calvin
Read Calvin any way you wish Mike. It's just like Scripture as one of God's elect guided by the Holy Spirit I know that Faith is the gift of God and the work of the Holy Spirit.
I also know that Total Depravity precludes the mortal from any active spiritual faculty reaching for Christ and salvation.

Calvin says;
"Faith is the principal work of the Holy Spirit (Institutes 3.1.4).
Faith is the proper and entire work of the Holy Spirit (Institutes 3.1.4).
We cannot quicken faith in ourselves or predispose ourselves for it in any way. There is not in us any commencement of faith or any preparation of it."
JOHN CALVIN Commentary John 6:45

"Is faith a gift? Jesus declares, "No one can come to Me unless it is granted him by the Father" (John 6:65). In the same passage Jesus declares, "All that the Father gives to Me will come to Me" (John 6:37). In both verses the phrase "come to Me" simply means "believe in Me" and so taken together Jesus is stating that no one can believe in Him unless God grants it, and all to whom God grants it will believe" According to this passage, then, God grants faith, a faith that will infallibly arise in the heart of those He has given His Son." Everyone in Thessalonica who heard the gospel was called!
Yeah just that God's calling doesn't always work??? Maybe He ain't as omnipotent as we thought eh???

Your god doesn't have much power does he???

This debate is like the Arminian talking to the Arminian???

I wonder if either one will arrive at a Sovereign, omnipotent and omniscient God? Dubious!!

BTW your "predestination" is a bit late in divine action isn't it???

Or does your dead sinner revive himself to life, change his mind whilst an enemy of God and tell God he wants to be saved which he couldn't comprehend in the first place because he does not have spiritual discernment???

Election is by God, in Christ, NOT by the evil hearted sinners choice!!!

Unless the sinner 'does' something, he will never get saved
Of course you should add John, that a sinner cannot "DO" repentance until AFTER he has been born again.

Acts 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then HATH GOD also to the Gentiles GRANTED repentance unto life.
