Sabbath = Saturday.

Always has, always will.

But it's good he won't attend this event on a Sunday; the Lords Day. Besides it's just a spelling bee so it won't hurt him any to miss it.

I guess you are right Lance, the rest of the world doesn't know what it means to chuck a spaz.

Being un-PC is the way to go....

CBC, real simple: being gay is good. If the children are being taught to be happy that is fine.

Being homosexual is bad. Most homosexuals are not gay at all, it is an unhappy way to live (to say the least).

I see John claiming "the Kingdom of God is on earth" theory. So a drunk won't inherit the earth? That's a big threat.... which somehow I don't think he or she would actually care about. I don't want the earth either for that matter, happy to leave it to the bears and kangaroos.

The obvious problem you face with this theory is that the gospels use the "kingdom of God" and "kingdom of heaven" phrases interchangably for the same parables.

So drunkards wont inherit the earth or heaven.

Montag - no; salvation is by faith through the grace of God. Faith being evidenced by the works of the Spirit in the saved believer.

For some hard cash anyone can puchase a Papal Bull.

Which reminds me I got paid by the Roman Catholics once to design a confessional inside one of their church buildings!

Exactly Vic. The bible knows no such sectarianism as the titles 'Calvinist' or 'Arminian' etc. It is an abomination for a professing follower of Christ to adopt other unbiblical titles and to bandy them around at others.

Shame on you sectarian bleaters who criticize the preaching of this teacher!

Tom it is because of the extreme sectarian views of the Calvinists who regard anyone outside of Calvinism as not even a Christian.

It seems this teacher did the right thing and preached the gospel but to extreme Calvs he is just another Arminian cur.

Montag is German for Monday, thought that was rather obvious.

Even more obvious is that those with no inheritance in Gods Kingdom are destined for hell. You don't have any other option unless you believe in purgatory.

But the responses are interesting, it seems Calvinism runs rather parallel with another cult, the Jehovah Witness movement:

"It might look like the bible says they go to hell but our Watchtower publication will explain it to you that it is actually the opposite. These people with no fruit of the Spirit actually go to heaven after all and those with the Spirit don't go to heaven. Because they don't need to."

"I spoke nothing which was untrue."

You spoke nothing which was biblical.

Gal 5v19-21 "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strifes, jealousies, angers, contentions, disputes, schools of opinion, envyings, murders, drunkennesses, revels, and things like these; as to which I tell you beforehand, even as I also have said before, that they who do such things shall not inherit God's kingdom."

(Unless you are OSAS in which case you would have already torn this passage out of your bible.) PS: why call yourself Monday? Was that your birthday? Just curious...

Calvin referred to the action of the Holy Spirit in John the Baptist (while he was still in the womb of his mother) as proving that regeneration can take place in infants before they even hear the Word of God.

Do you agree with this principal cbc?

CBC I was quoting Calvins view, clearly yours (and mine) are quite different from his.

Calvin drifted into serious doctrinal error. Many on this site claim to be followers of his, but when push comes to shove few actually are complete adherents.

"Mr. Paszkiewicz is obviously an Arminian."

In your sectarian view he probably is.

To 'Not a Christian Drunk' there is no such thing as a 'Christian drunk'.

According to scripture all drunkards will go to hell, the sin is very serious. This includes one-time believers too.

A drunkard is a drunkard, not a Christian.

The scriptures strongly condemn drunkeness but not wine.

"We are radically depraved"

Presumably except for the elect that Calvin held were regenerated before birth.

So speak for yourself

The expression I have heard here is 'stunned mullet' I think, guess the idea is the same.

I don't think the 70's hairstyle has really caught on here yet. The unkempt mop looks a bit feminine on those boys; someone should tell them it is sissy. Takes me back to my school days being almost the only boy with short hair in the entire school (and being reminded of this daily).
