One wonders what people like Bonhoeffer and the apostle Paul would say about the "church" making statements like these. Don't call people down who claim Christ but don't behave as such? Isn't that what we should do? These are scary times.

I thought the fact that government schools were secular and anti-Christian was already established. Humanistic, hostile to American values, redistribution of wealth...it's been like that for a while.

Glenn Beck is Mormon. Why do conservative "Christians" continue to hang on his every word?!

Hey, maybe her husband could put Scripture on the bottles of booze he sells as "a gentle nudge to stay in the word." I apologize for the cynicism, but...wow! The shallowness never ends.

Mike is right. Socialism/Communism makes a god of the state. The U.S. Constitution is based on the (correct) assumption that God sets the standards and parameters of behavior and law and the government's role is to protect the God-given, inalienable rights of its citizenry. Socialism/Communism comes from a philosophy that sets man as the standard and elevates the state to godhood; therefore whatever man, ideology, etc. is in power, it gives and takes away rights as the state sees fit. Don't believe me, or Mike; read Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Richard Wurmbrand, and countless others. They have actually been through it, and by God's grace, lived to tell about it.

There may be some truth to this. The author is a graduate of Brigham Young University.

Wow, how very sad that this man will haved lived his life in vain and spent his gift of intelligence from God on glorifying himself. All of that science and he will never be able to answer the most important questions he has because he began with the presupposition that there no God. He would have done well to study his predecessor, Isaac Newton, who was a devout Christian, a little closer. I pray he finds the answer to all of his questions, Jesus Christ, BEFORE he dies.

"...allowing the creation of organisms with specialised functions that could never have evolved in nature..."

Wow! Science can do what God can't, huh?! We are at the height of arrogance, here. God help us all!

"Know that the LORD, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;" (Psalm 100:3)

Does anyone have any concept of or love for the truth anymore? Thank God for Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. willing to stand for the truth and call heresy when they see it.

“ 'These laws all have the same goal, and that’s to discourage women from seeking abortions in the first place,' said Anita Fream, the chief executive of Planned Parenthood of Central Oklahoma."

Oh, you're quick, Ms. Fream. Think of that all by yourself, did you?

Good for Oklahoma with the ultrasound requirement. If you insist on murdering a baby, you need to know exactly what you're doing, not justify it by calling it "choice" or "women's reproductive health." And some of these women have been so fooled by Planned Parenthood's tactics, they really don't realize there's an actual baby in there.

I was under the impression that Liberty was a distinctively Christian school. With all due respect to Mr. Beck, he is not a Christian; he is a Mormon. What is going on with all these Christians looking to Glenn Beck as their hero? Conservative, yes; Christian, no. Where do our ultimate loyalties lie, with Conservativism or with Jesus Christ? I know my answer, and it isn't politics.

Wow, Rick, it's a far stretch to go from homosexuality to bashing Christian rock music. Ray Boltz doesn't even do rock music. And remember Michael English who left the Christian music scene for a while due to his problem with adultery? He did southern gospel music with the Gaithers. And mustwatch, as far as the Psalms, they give direction to use instruments of Gath. Gath was Philistine, home of Goliath and company. The point: use everything to praise the Lord. Why don't we pray for these artists whose mininstries lead them to temptations. As for sin, that is a different story...

Really sad, and scary, comments. Such vehemence against the Lord and His people. Calling the God of Abraham murderous for toturing and killing His own son: a total misunderstanding of who Jesus Christ is. He IS God in the flesh. We think of the term "Son of God" in our terms. Actually, our relationships are modeled after that of the Trinity, not the other way around!
Also, did you notice the person who denounced Christianity because of the Catholic Church/pope's cover-up and abuse of children? The word of God is blasphemed among the nations because of this!

Come quickly, Lord Jesus!!!

Mandating healthcare and penalizing citizens who don't have it by taking MORE of their money--how does that equal "health care reform" or everyone getting health insurance. This is the end of freedom as we know it. Come, Lord Jesus, the only One Who gives REAL freedom!!!

We, as God's people are to submit ourselves to the governing authorities, even wicked ones. HOWEVER, there are some issues where the authority of man goes beyond what God has given. Health care for everyone, socialism: bad ideas at best, but not worth dying for.
Killing babies: wicked--God WILL NOT tolerate this. This is a place to draw the line. May God have mercy on our souls as we Christians stand by and allow millions of baby to be sacrificed to the God's of progressivism and choice. Even so, Lord Jesus, come!!!

Wow, everyone quoted in this article is messed up! Mr. Duren from the SBC says, "For a long time, Southern Baptists and evangelicals were so focused on the return of Christ that what was happening in the real world was almost incidental." Waiting for the return of Christ is the real world! He is what we have to offer a hopeless, oppressed world.

Also, though, God tells us to fight for the oppressed and vulnerable: the widow, the orphan, the alien. Throughout the Old Testament, He is angry with Israel for further oppressing these weaker ones.

Most of the great issues of social justice have been led by Christians because of their devotion to Jesus Christ, i.e. William Wilberforce and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to name just two.

And everyone looking to Glen Beck for answers: BEWARE!!! Jack Rabbit is right; he is "loco." It's because Mr. Beck is a Mormon (see link below).

Did you read the comments after the article?! Apparently, many "Americans" agree with Ahmadinejad. Good thing, because if they really do want a country run like his, they BETTER agree with what he says! They have no clue what it's like to live in such a country. We are so spoiled!

"the lifetime ban on MSM blood donations is punitive, unfair and unnecessary."

What?!!? You have got to be kidding? Now everyone has a "right" to give blood!?! We might damage someone's "self-esteem" if we don't let them give blood. How about IV drug users? We're probably hurting their feelings too.

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!
