JD,

There is a product called GLCDirect in Kentucky that Marita mentioned for arthritus. They have a website worth checking out. There is alot of that stuff around, but this is exceptional.

Cbc,

You are right, I used very bad judgement making that last comment. Instead, I am going to pray for the unteachable and lost people here. I have asked for God's forgiveness and I also ask for yours. I have been going thru a very stressful time, but that is no excuse.

JD,

Haven't you ever heard, "A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still."

That means they are unteachable! And without naming names, that certainly applies too many that make comments on Sermon Audio.

God bless you for your tenacious spirit!

“ Great Sermon! ”
Anybody that thinks you can be saved one day and lost the next should listen to this wonderful sermon. This was first preached in 1993 and it is much closer and more timely for today.

Cbc,
Luk 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

Luk 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

Luk 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

Luk 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Those verses speak for themselves about self righteousness. A prayer is calling out to God for mercy. Michel Vick's exact words are not important because He only needs God’s acceptance and He has assured us in His Word that He will do that for new converts.

Sure there are shallow conversions, but our part is to pray for that new convert to grow and go on for Christ. Your snide remark when you said that I should have invited him to give a testimony in my church seemed that you doubted that God could use this man for His Glory. The most sensible thing you said was "let’s both give the man a chance to bring forth fruit." Amen

Cbc, Some case you have made.
There is a lot of hatred and anger toward Michael Vick because of his celebrity status on secular websites, but I never expected a man claiming to be a preacher on a Fundamental Christian site to post the worst one I have read. Any preacher that would deny Michael Vick the opportunity to call on Jesus Christ and denies the Holy Word of God because he knows the man’s heart better than God is a disgrace to the ministry.

You are only boasting and reeking with Pride with your "elected" church doctrine if you do not want to see the lost people come to Jesus and be saved. Shame on you or anyone else that preaches and/or believes otherwise!!!

Cbc,
Who died and made you the pope? Unless you are some infallible person here on earth, you have absolutely NO right to question what this man’s motives are. If Michael Vick has found Jesus and turned his life over to God, then that is between him and God, not you or anyone else. Salvation is of God and ONLY God knows this man’s HEART.

Rom 10:10 For with the HEART man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:11 For the Scripture saith, WHOSOEVER believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over ALL is rich unto ALL that call upon him.

Rom 10:13 For WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

MV made a public profession in front of millions, so I think that was a good start. These scriptures do not qualify ANYONE from doing this because Whosoever” and “All” mean just that.
Where is the rejoicing when a sinner comes home? Your self righteous doctrine is not God's plan of salvation, but a mere man!

I wonder how many people are pointing fingers at him that have even worse sins in their own lives!
"For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
"There is NONE righteous, no not one!"

SB,

Thank you both for taking my comment in the way it was intended. I have the same feeling toward Catholics as you do. I was not a member of the church, but I have many close friends that are Catholic and I have supported the church missions.

You have a wonderful testimony. Your simple message of salvation is right on the mark. That is a good example of the simplicity in Christ. Thanks for sharing that. May God bless you for your tender hearted concern for others.

SB,

For many years I was deceived by the false teaching of the Catholic church, and when witnessing to Catholics, I used to be very impatient and get upset when they argued or defended their doctrine. I would get angry and take their rejection personally. In doing this, I would say something that pushed them away from the cross, instead of pushing them to the cross until I realized they were rejecting Jesus Christ and not me. (Mex Mike suggested once that if you ask them first to explain the difference between a Catholic and a Christian, it gives you a good opportunity to explain to them and that is much better.) Since only God knows what their heart condition will be before they die, these verses comes to mind.

1Co 13:1 “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.”

Pro 11:12 “He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbor: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.”

Remember others are reading this and Jesus Christ had compassion for the lost. When you are charitable toward that person, you won’t be closing the door for someone else to share the gospel at another time.

SB, Praise the Lord that you saw the light and came out!!!

JD,
I noticed you posted this on 8/17/06
"It is my view that very few fundamentalists are now strong dispensationalists because of the shifting of the emphasis from doctrinal study which proceeds from the intellect to emhasizing soul winning as the most important activity of the church and Christians, an attitude which proceeds from the emotions. This shift took place with men like J R Rice and infiltrated the churches through his publication, 'Sword of the Lord'.

While evangelism is definitely important, it is getting a billing that God did not assign to it. Quickly, name me your favorite passage admonishing you to soul win from the epistles Romans through 3 Jn.....The point is, the knowledge of our wonderful God will provoke us to holy living which includes evangelism."

I agree wholehearted with your post because soul winning is all my church ever preachs because they are associated with Hyles/Anderson College. There are some Fundamental preachers on SermonAudio that the main topic is not just soul winning, but I don't want to always be attending the Chapel of the Tube or Internet and not be in church. My age and present health condition makes it very difficult to move. This has really bothered me for quite some time and I would really appreciate your advice.
Thanks

A church that is teaching that your works keep you saved, speaking gibberish and falling down rolling around the ground like a lunatic or laughing hysterically is not teaching sound doctrine. Anyone who thinks they are have been sadly deceived.

"From the second century to the nineteenth century, there is no historical evidence that godly, orthodox believers spoke in tongues. We do have instances of tongues speaking in these centuries, but in every case the people speaking in tongues belonged to heretical groups. From Montanus (2nd Century) to Edward Irving (19th century), instances of "tongues" within the church were never considered to be part of genuine Christianity. Also, we should note that these "heretics" who spoke in tongues were speaking some kind of emotional, nonsense gibberish and not real languages as was the case in Acts chapter 2."

Yamill, you have expressed yourself beautifully in your post. This was the only thing I could think of to include.

With all the negative things being said about Christianity, we all can use a message like this to restore our faith in God's word. Thank you Bro Cloud for giving such an edifying sermon. May God continue to bless you and your ministry.

SBGG,
Since it has been over 9 hrs since you posted with no response, God's Word is referred to as a sword in this scripture and that is what I think Jesus was referring to when he said to buy one.
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged SWORD, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Heb. 4:12 KJV

This a very excellent sermon on the KJV, and definitely worth listening to especially if you wonder what is really wrong with the NKJV and NIV.

"And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." Rev. 17:5

"The world was dominatd by one great imperial power in the first century. Rome ruled supreme everywhere it cared to expand. It's authority was limited only by it's crude communications network. That obstacle now overcome, and Rome (the Vatican State) is again wielding an incredible influence in the world. No government can afford to take the pope and his hierarchy lightly. Rome is rapidly forging Antichrist's one-world government and religious system."

This was written in the Baptist Bread for July 12, 2003. And despite all the shame the catholic church has brought upon herself, it is still gaining support from the world and growing.

JD,

Dr. Jack Trieber of the North Valley Baptist Church gave an excellent sermon on "Seperation" last Sunday which included men and womens dress. It is archived on their website at www.nvbc.org/ The entire church service is recorded, but you can fast forward to the sermon if you want.

Please give a listen as I think you and/or those debating this subject might find it helpful as he used a lot of scriptures to make his point. It is the first time I have ever heard a preacher call out his congregation on this subject! (They have a 3000 seat auditorium plus they are in Calif ).

Michael Hranek,

Thank you for mentioning the message"10 Shekels And A Shirt" as I had never heard of Paris Reidhead. I listened to it and I am lost for words. It was one of the strongest sermons I've ever listened to and I have heard many sermons in my lifetime, but not like that one!

Everyone who proclaims to be a Christian should hear it. I am going to listen to it again.

"God is a jealous God. We can`t allow any kind of other religion -thats Bible! If he`s Hindu, thats his choice but the senate is no place for any other prayer but to GOD-OUR country is(was) based on. How can they pray in the senate when our children can`t pray in school?"

Thank you for your excellent post that is on the headline we are supposed to be discussing. All this other discussion has no bearing on the subject and should be discussed elsewhere! This is a very serious matter what the Senate is allowing and should not be accepted by a God fearing people.

This morning the pastor said in his sermon, "The Declaration of Indepence was signed not just to be independent from England, but to be dependent on God. The 52 of the 54 that signed it believed in Jesus Christ."

Folks, this country was founded "Under God" and our motto is "In God We Trust". This is not the God of the Holy Bible that the hindu is praying to but a counterfeit. All roads do NOT lead to heaven as so many are being led to believe, but Salavation is only thru Jesus Christ our Lord!!! (John 14:6)
