"A kid stared at an organ-grinder and his monkey for hours and finally turned to his mother and said, "Isn"t it awful the way our ancestors had to beg for money!"

That was an old joke, but sadly young people are really believing this devil's lie because evolution is now taught in schools as "Fact" and not "Theory"!

Jim,

Thanks for posting that link as it is very educational. I always thought they were an evil organization, but I never knew just how really evil they are!

It has always made me wonder why people like Tom Cruise and John Travolta have joined this bogus cult and given their money and time to support it!

Lance,
Just the other day I got stopped by the police and was given a ticket going 90 mph in a school zone with children present. But don't worry about it, I know the judges mother!

That joke is the same thing you and other Catholics are doing when they are praying and asking Mary to intercede for them. Can you show me a scripture in the Holy Bible that tells us she has the authority to do this?

You are lost in your sins, sir, and I am praying for you and other Catholics that God will open your eyes.

Sermon:
Living Right in the Wrong Town
Jonathan Modene

“ Great Sermon! ”
Pastor Modene, Your sermon comparing Daniel with someone living in Las Vegas was absolutely brillant. This is truly a great message for those who are fainting and compromising with sin. I live in Reno and although we have some industry here unlike LV, it is still Sin City #2. I have saved this sermon as I want to hear it again several times to let it sink in and to share it with a friend. God bless you for your stand for truth, we need more godly men like you preaching God's Word!

John C,
Shawn might have other references, but one example would be that witnesses had to put their hand on the Bible and had to agree to the question, "Do you promise to tell the truth, the whole truth, so help me God?" with a simple "I do" before they would proceed in court.

If the person swearing this oath was not a God fearing person, then this promise would not have any meaning and would be worthless if they agreed to it. And if they were an Atheist, they also might not agree to it which would disqualify them as a witness!

The Marks and Definitions of a Cult

A system of religious beliefs and rituals with a body of adherents deeply devoted to an extra biblical person, idea, or thing; it cultivates worship in a religion that, with reference to its basis for man's salvation, is considered to be unorthodox, spurious, or false, thereby insulating its members against true salvation in Christ. And inasmuch as the central doctrine of Biblical Christianity is the sacrificial death of Christ for man's sin (Eph. 2:8,9), all cultic deviations tend to downplay the finished work of Christ and emphasize the importance of earning moral acceptance before God through one's own religious works.

Extra biblical Authority: All cults deny what God says in His Word as true. Cults have shifted their theological point of authority away from God's full and final written Word, the Bible, to their own unique, self-promoting opinions about the Bible; they generally will use parts of the Bible but will have their own unique scripture which is considered to be superior to the Bible. While some cult groups give token respect for the Bible and go through the motions of accepting the authority of Scripture, in reality, they honor the group's or leader's novel interpretation of Scripture as normative

Sound familiar, GG?

Excellent Sermon Audio titled "Divorce, Re-Marriage & the Bible #2" by Dr. D.A. Waite

"Fellow Sermon Audio listeners, this study is WELL WORTH your time to listen to! It has two purposes: #1, Dr. Waite rebuts an individual's article that has false teaching on the subject of marriage/divorce/remarriage. #2, Dr. Waite, in the midst of rebutting the article, goes into great detail on what the Bible actually teaches on marriage/divorce/remarriage. If you want to clear up a lot of your own misunderstandings on this subject or if you already take the right view on this and want to strengthen your knowledge of what the Scripture teaches on this very important and basic issue in Christianity, please take the time to listen!!!"

This also applies to the WMI!

Gal 1:8-9 “But though we, or an ANGEL from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, if any MAN preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

They are totaly deceived by the lies of a MAN!

1) Sorcery was used to find the golden plates.

2) Only Joseph Smith found them and there were no other witnesses to prove them.

3) The Reformed Egyptians were never discovered unlike people found in the bible.

4) Joseph Smith translated the plates by inspiration supposedly to perfection, yet there are constant changes made by later church leaders regarding blacks, etc.

5) There were over 27, 000 words taken from the KJV in supposedly plates hidden long before the KJV was written.

6) Never ANY archeological find to prove any of the people or cities existed!!!

7) They are told to pray about these things and they will have a burning in the bosom to prove them which is based on feelings.

DNA has proved the Indians are not a lost tribe of Israel, see free videos
DNA vs Mormonism and Bible vs Book of Mormon at www.lhvm.org/bible.htm

Both are excellent tools for witnessing to Mormons!

Kenny,
You have made some very excellent comments in this forum for the KJV and I agree wholheartedly with your last comment. Here is something for you or for those that use the KJV might be unaware of.

"The Bible For Today "DEFINED" King James Bible

The Authorized King James Version of the Bible has been, and continues to be, the God honored, most accurate, and best translation from the proper original language texts of the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and authoritative Word of God for the English-speaking nations.
Don't throw the baby out with the bath water! Keep the excellent rhythm, cadence, and reliability of the Faithful Old King James Bible. Simply add to it footnoted definitions of uncommon words and what do you get? You get the Defined King James Bible. This Bible uses footnotes to define virtually all of the archaic, obsolete, difficult, or uncommon words in the King James Bible.

To date, over 54,000 copies of our Defined King James Bible have been printed and distributed in various places throughout the world."

In case you have never seen or heard about this bible, you can go to their website at biblefortoday.org and check it out. I think this is probably one of,if not the best, KJV Bible in the world!!!

A river of new “easy to read” Bibles has poured from the presses over the past 50 years and yet biblical literacy has diminished dramatically during this time. A recent article observed: “According to estimates, never have so many Bibles been published and distributed, yet never has biblical literacy been so low. Gone are the days when Scripture--namely the King James Version--supplied a common vocabulary for daily speech, public morality and national literature. Today, hundreds of colorful translations and editions feed the market (a $600 million business, some say)...” “Bible Would Still Be Life Guide Today If People Actually Read It,”. The multiplication of “easy to read” Bibles has been accompanied by the rise of the “seeker friendly” church philosophy, but the result has been a decrease in church attendance and Bible reading. When the old “antiquated” King James Bible was the standard and when the churches were “old-fashioned” and conservative in their approach to evangelism and worship, the effect on society was much greater. “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall fine rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein" (Jere 6:16) taken from Wayoflife.org

Papist,

I grew up in the 1930’s and 40’s when all the catholic propaganda in the movies was going on with Bing Crosby, Spencer Tracy, etc., so I was brainwashed like many others at that time to believe their doctrine was true because they seemingly were worshiping the same Jesus I was. Sadly, it took many years before I realized that it was not true and that I had been deceived.

I have since read much material as well as listened to many sermons regarding Catholics because I have had some very dear friends that are catholic. If you have looked at all the past history and evidence, it is pretty difficult not to conclude that Roman Catholicism is a false religion.

Since Peter was supposedly the "rock" in which the church was built, did HE (Peter) worship Mary? How did he honor and venerate her ? How about Paul? Timothy? Anyone in written "biblical" history except for Elizabeth?

The RCC has built a whole doctrine on what she said, “Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb."
Mary replied in Luke 1:47, “And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour.” She said in Luke 1:55, “As he spake to OUR fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed forever.”
Now how can Mary be the Mother of God if she needed a Saviour and had earthly fathers? Anyone???

Best of the Rest

"As for the article, they sure make it sound like this is all approval more in the realm of American Idol than anything that glorifies Christ. Approval of people, big deal. What a shame. These people have a LOW view of Christ with all this exaltation of self. Pretty sad!"

"Is the electing of cardinals scriptural? If so where in the Bible might I find it?
_____________________________________
Cardinal, monsignor or pope are NOT Biblical offices and none of those words are found in the Bible."

"I met a woman one time when I was trying to give a scriptural witness of faith and when I offered to show her a scripture from her Bible that answered a question she had, she said, "I don't read the Bible or know anything about it, sweetie, I'm a Catholic."

"And I was also told that "gullible" is not in the dictionary, but it is. "Gullible" is what people who follow popes and bishops and cardinals and people in red and white capes do!"

Papist,
What was uncharitable about these words, Sir, when they are all true. Is it uncharitable to tell someone to get out of a burning house before it is too late?
The catholic church is founded on nothing more than man-made rituals!!!

GG, thanks for giving me another opportunity to post these as they are too good not to pass on.

"The Bible teaches that Mary was a "highly favored one." She was especially chosen to be the mother of the SON OF GOD just as you say. But, what some people disagree with is praying to her and worshiping her. This is something set aside for God alone. That does not mean that people DENIGRATE her, they just believe scripturally that she should not be worshiped.
Also you yourself said she is the mother of the son of God - Jesus Christ. However, in the Hail Mary Prayer, she is referred to as the MOTHER OF GOD. God has no mother. He always was. Jesus however, had a beginning, a creation and also had a human existance many years after his creation. This is what some people also object to. But evidentally there are those in the Catholic church, I am assuming like yourself who do not believe that way, but rather recognize that Mary is the mother of Jesus, not the mother of GOD.

Just because someone does not chose to WORSHIP Mary in the same way many Catholics do, in no way means they are denigrating her. I believe that Mary would not WANT people to worship her, that would be the same as idolatry, which is strictly forbidden in the scriptures. Mary needed a Saviour (Luke 1:47)"

"Interesting, that the "College of Cardinals" began in 927 A.D."

Here is a list of post-biblical doctrine (dogmas) of the Catholic Church:

These articles were in the USAToday and this was one of the comments.

"I used to think these were good men who performed great things for humankind.

That is, until a certain Cardinal Bernie Law of Boston emerged ... this cretin knowingly moved pedophile priests from parish to parish so they could prey on other victims. He was, of course, caught and to this day takes no responsibility for his actions.

And Bernie’s reward? Disgraced from Boston only to be brought back to Rome with a promotion by JP II. Instead, he should be in jail!

Goes to show that the church certainly comes before it's people. I've lost all faith in this church and it's corrupt and evil hierarchy!!!"

"Christ's church began on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit manifested himself after the preaching of the Apostle Peter (read Acts 2). Christ's church did NOT manifest itself with the building of cathedrals, the amalgamation with paganism, the formation of Jezebel or its reformation.
This is Mystery, Babylon--Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth. "Come out of her my people, lest you share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes" ( Rev. 18:4)."

"The bottom line is the cross of Jesus Christ is not the foundation for christianity in the system called calvinism because it benefits no one but the preselected elect. Therefore election is the foundation for salvation of everyone and not just Christianity.

Faith has no place in your tulip either!"

JD, Both excellent points and worth repeating!
