“ Great Sermon! ” Man made religion is, in truth, a form of rebellion against God. Far from being sincere, its practioners seek to disguise their heart enmity against God by keeping a set of human rules and regulations. By so doing, they may give an impression of great holiness before men, but God is not deceived. Man made religion and self righteousness will only bring damnation and eternal destruction. Repent, and put all your hope for salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, for He is the only way, the only truth, and the only life.
“ Challenging Sermon! ” Are we, as Christians, as consistent in seeking the glory of God as the wicked are in seeking their vain and covetous ends? A challenging sermon!
“ Great Sermon! ” As one who was delivered from the New Age by Jesus Christ, I can testify that this sermon accurately describes New Age beliefs and practices. Also, Pastor Silversides is correct in saying that New Age thinking still permeates our culture and is even influencing current events, although the term "New Age" has fallen out of fashion. A valuable sermon!
“ Great Sermon! ” The prodigal son left home to enjoy the pleasures of sin, yet found that "the way of transgressors is hard." (Proverbs 13:15b) Being brought to poverty, and with none to care for or help him in his misery, he came to his senses, and returned to the Father, who lovingly received him, and graciously forgave him all his sin. Will you, too, abandon your sin and misery, and return to the merciful Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ?
“ Listen to The Truth ” These are true words from God. Listen! This world is turned upside down because when seekers ask what these words mean, they are told by liberal (and even some of those who profess to be reformed) churches that these words no longer apply, even as I was told, and I went away for many years from Christ thinking that God could not be there.
Either we have faith in the word of God as had Abraham or we do not. Women are blessed by these words. Men are blessed by these words. Families, little children, are blessed by these words.
Men and women in Christ are equally beloved by him. That is NOT to say that we are to follow our own order, but his, for he is our KING. He died to save us. Will he then command a thing that is not equal and good?
Modern sensibilities cannot grasp this without the teaching of the Holy Spirit, and without the loss of pride. We will not obey the Lord if we do not love him. Do you love Christ Jesus? Do you trust him? Will you suffer with him? Will you reign with him? Will you obey him?
“ Great Sermon! ” Do you rejoice with the angels when a sinner is converted to Christ? If not, why not? What joy should fill our hearts when we see the grace of God magnified in the salvation of those, who, like us, deserve only God's eternal wrath!
“ Great Sermon! ” There are many excuses for worldly conformity, but Christ did not leave us here to blend in with the world. Only by being distinct from the world can we season it with the good salt of the gospel!
“ Great Sermon! ” Following Christ will inevitably bring conflict with unbelievers, even, and most especially, with those who are closest to us. We must count the cost, and be willing to lose all for Christ. "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple." (Luke 14:26) May God give grace to His own for this.
“ Excellent Sermon! ” An excellent sermon showing the breadth of our evangelistic duty, which extends to even the least attractive in society, and also the ingratitude of those who reject God's gracious offer of salvation in Jesus Christ.
“ Great Sermon! ” "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." (Proverbs 16:18) How great shall be the destruction of those who are too proud to confess their sin, and receive the Lord Jesus as Saviour!
“ Excellent Sermon! ” Are you among the wicked who look for excuses to reject Christ and His Gospel, or are you among those who lay aside self-righteousness and believe on Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord? Excellent sermon!
“ Excellent Sermon! ” An excellent defense of the Free Offer of the Gospel as opposed to Hyper-Calvinism, which is a gross misunderstanding of the true Reformed faith.
“ Great Sermon! ” Not only does this sermon provide a helpful overview of the Watchtower Society and its heresies, it also gives valuable instruction in how to handle members of this cult who knock on your door. Excellent!
“ Great Sermon! ” Is Christ precious to you, or is He a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence? Neither open opposition nor pretended friendship to Christ will carry any through on the Day of Judgement. Put your faith in Him today, to the saving of your soul.
“ Great Sermon! ” Are you relying on anything at all besides the finished work of Jesus Christ for your salvation? Church membership, the sacraments, moral living and good works will not merit Heaven. Only a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will do. Life is short and uncertain - do not delay to put your trust in Him! "...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." II Corinthians 6:2
