We hear from 2 Chronicles 32:25-26 when godly King Hezekiah was filled with pride (his heart was lifted up) and had forgotten all the blessings he had received from the Lord was of grace. His pride had kept him from rendering to the Lord (thanks) according to the benefit that He had received from God. Hezekiah had to be humbled and we have to be too. And so, pride, even in the godly, is a great hindrance to the giving of the Lord thanks. It is something to be mortified, for Christ has truly done great things for us, and He is worthy of being acknowledged for it. Preached on a special thanksgiving service on 09/29/22 to acknowledge the Lord's mercies to this congregation.
