The chapter closes with Abraham at peace, but only briefly. We also face many troubles, and must remember that God keeps his promises. We also see that God will separate unbelievers from believers, yet has compassion towards all. Finally, Hagar represents the slavery of trying to win God's favor by our works, while Sarah represents the freedom of resting in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. |
