This passage powerfully conveys the horror of Jesus' crucifixion. The horror came as Jesus received God's curse that would otherwise come on us because of our sin. But as he received the curse in our place, we not only know that we have his understanding whenever we also suffer brutality, mockery, and injustice, we also know that we have peace with God through Jesus Christ. |
