Sermon Point: Avoid destruction; side with salvation.
Outline: 1. God's gives Israel her inheritance by destroying the inhabitants of the land (Genesis 15:16; Numbers 21:21-25, 31-35; Deuteronomy 20:16-17). 2. Joshua sends two spies; in God's providence, Rahab receives them (Verses 1-7) and sends them safely on their way (Verses 16, 21-24). 3. There is terror in the land and Rahab seeks salvation (Verses 8-13). 4. And so Rahab binds herself to the spies by covenant; they escape using a red rope (Verses 14-15). 5. The same red rope is Rahab's symbol of salvation; we have a covenant and a sign of the covenant (Verses 14, 17-21). 6. You are Jericho and Christ visits; you are bound to Him by covenant with covenant signs; avoid destruction and side with salvation.
