Jesus said that He had an earnest desire to eat the Passover with his disciples, and this sacrificial lamb or Korban Pesach may be compared to the work and ministry of Christ. The lamb was both a part of and separated from the regular flock. It was separate in being spotless and set aside for the sacrifice while at the same time being common and ordinary. There is a direct comparison to the total divinity and total humanity posses in equal measure by our Lord making Him an acceptable substitution. The lamb was both a symbol of redemption and experience. In the same way Christ secures redemption for all of His people, but this redemption must be experienced as an individual reality.
