The Suffering Servant Part I - Victory Through Humiliation

Idea: These verses begin the fourth of Isaiah's Song of the Servant. In this song that stretches into chapter 53, the Lord tells us that Servant of the Lord takes a surprising path to victory. He suffers great humiliation. But in doing so, Jesus won a great victory over sin and Satan and death. To accomplish our redemption, Jesus also had to suffer. In this passage and the following ch. 53, we'll be led to meditate on the suffering and exaltation of our Redeemer, Christ.
