The history of the Book of Acts is is, among other things, a history of inevitable persecution. In the second Epistle to Timothy Paul writes, "Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted." But, it will end in our redemption. The economic and cultural impact of the Gospel often serves as the catalyst for such persecution, as is demonstrated in Paul's circumstances in Ephesus. Ignorance breeds violent confusion. |
