“ Great Sermon! ”
Good sermon but we need to clear on some truths before we give advice to congregations on Divorce and remmarriage Firstly the word used for the exception clause is Fornication and not sexual immorality as stated in the newer translations when all of translation prior to 1600 used the word Fornication/ Whorredom Fornication is sexual sin prior to marriage and has its own meaning separate from Adultery that’s why it is listed seperately in 1 Corinthians 6 Jesus gave the reason why Moses allowed for Divorce. ( hard hearts) and then only gave one reason to put away our wives 1 Cor 7 :10 gives clear instructions on the Christian. marriages Wife must not depart but if she does she must stay single unmarried and the husband must not out away his wife ( for no reason) And for the believer with unbelieving spouse if they want to leave you are to let them and stay single The descertion clause is a doctrine of man and can only be preached because tof the changes in the law by the governments f this world In the UK In the 1700 you could only get a Divorce by an act of Parliament In 1857 by an act of Parliament the law was changed to allow for Divorce for Adultery (wrong reason ) Divorce for diesertion only came in 1937 change of law and not biblical ground
