Life and God’s Law Many people are hoping that God will grade on the curve when it comes to getting into heaven—or perhaps that if they do more good things than bad things they will have eternal life. What is your expectation at death? God’s Law does have an important place in what happens to us in eternity. In fact, often in the Bible we are told that we have life by obeying all God’s law. But that differs from the people we noted above. God demands 100% obedience to His law. That means we are all condemned because, as the Bible also teaches, we are all sinners! But there is still hope for us. God accepts a perfect Substitute in your place—One who will take the punishment you deserve and give you the eternal life He has earned. There is only One who fits this description—Jesus Christ. He requires you to trust Him completely in full submission to Him, turning from your sins to serve Him alone. We urge you to come to Christ, not hiding your sin but acknowledging it and its offense to Him. Are you ready for that so that you may inherit eternal life?
