I turned to this on account of your lesson on Jehovah. I found nothing but good stuff! You were blessed in your ordination exams & sermon, etc. But I see you’ve been doing secrets things with God! You’ve been even more blessed! Wow, am I excited. God bless! Dick Knodel

“ Grateful for this! ”
Chris: I can’t tell you how grateful I am to hear how you’re thinking, and the way you’ve expressed yourself. It’s insightful, balanced, and penetrating. Your didactic method is so clear. As one who’s so concerned for the church’s next 50 years, I’m thrilled to hear this! It’s potential is much larger than the particular point you argued; even though the point itself is quite important. It’s obvious that God has given you linguistic gifts! We’ll have to talk more over the phone! You’ve gone to the top of my prayer list on account of this one message. May I not be wrong! God bless you and the Phoenix RPC!

The Famine of God's Word

Really marvelous, Kenny! Not in the flesh, though it is that way too; but more — in the Spirit! With proper reference & credit I hope to reprise a form of it for my people this Lord’s Day in a Communion sermon! The contrast between our current famine, and Christ’s provision in the ‘table,’ is too delicious to pass by! And the malady, as you describe it — is SO PERTINENT TODAY! We ‘are’ in danger this famine killing us!!! We are desperate for God’s Spirit to awaken us again! Desperate! And so you said. Thanks so much from this silly American! I remember you with much fondness!

“ Great Sermon! ”
So very exciting, Chris, to hear this sermon! You preach as one who understands and has authority! I gave thanks to God for your spirited proclamation of the great things of God!!! May God bless you with many long years at his holy desk. Your presentation was thrilling to my ears. Your many good gifts are easily seen. I’d gladly listen to you myself if I had opportunity. God bless! Dr. Dick Knodel (Cincinnati, Ohio)

Nikki’s comments ring with truth. When it comes to differences between her and Trump, I usually agree with Trump. And she has ambitions of her own. But generally I found her forthright and believable. Her new book sure puts a different light on Tillerson and Kelly!

“ Thanks so much for this! ”
What a powerful sermon brother! Such an encouraging subject, preached with such authority! It was hard for me to remind myself that I knew you — inasmuch as I listened to the Truth of the ages! It was so touching to hear of your earlier loss of your child, and then later of your wife — all the while loving the God of these harsh providences. Thank you so much for ‘giving yourself’ over to the Lord to preach so fervently! God bless you! All of San Francisco should be breaking-down your doors to hear such preaching!

“ What a glorious message! ”
What a glorious message! G.I. preached this message when he was 90 years old, at the end of 2015. His logic and vocabulary are so clear, and his text and theme couldn’t be more pertinent to our suffering culture! I enjoyed this immensely. So should you.

“ Very Sweet Message ”
When last I saw you, you were tending books at the FP BOOKSTORE in Glasgow; but now I find you all through school, and preaching in GR! Zach Dotson (Coldenham-Newburgh) reminded me that you were all done, and could be found on Sermon Audio. So I looked and found. It was quite wonderful to hear you open up these two verses so earnestly. May the Lord continue to bless you here in the states. I’d love to chat with you a bit concerning your worldwide experiences now. Text me your mobile at (937) 750-9459, and I’ll certainly try to catch up with you. Dick Knodel — your once Sca-ish friend from the U.S., Glasgow, and Edinburgh.

Good job at explaining/exegeting a difficult text. You’ve got a clear, crisp delivery Chris, that I think the Lord well use to his advantage!

“ Great Sermon! ”
A sweet sermon about children, and God’s provision for them. Much good biblical information preached in a very searching manner. Loved many of your illustrations. Was especially struck by your use of Isaiah 59:21, and it’s application for us and our children. Very precise word-choice, Craig — which is such a delight. Thank you for being so ernest!

“ Great Sermon! ”
Tremendously edifying! Tremendously glorifying (of Christ)! My brother Gavin preaches so powerfully “in the Spirit!” Praise the Lord! He has absolutely no interest in praise for himself; only for the LORD! Piling up Scripture after Scripture, his message overwhelms us with its power!

“ Listening to this again ... ”
Seven months later, I listened to this again, and if anything it was even richer, as it probed our spiritually loneliness — and encouraged us to faith. God’s own phrases (his Scripture phrases, like Isaiah 50:10c) are haunting, and catch us up in their depth — in this case the believer’s “walking in darkness, without light!” This resonated with my own soul, and my loneliness in this world! Loved your references to other passages like Job 30:26, Psalm 88:14-18, and Jesus’ experiences in Gethsemanie. God’s Word is so rich; and you showed us more of its gold! Thanks again.
