Walt wrote: Moderator Gamma, I am not sure if you were referencing my question to Abigail. Moderator Gamma's post was a general reminder and not directed to anyone in particular.Walt wrote: If you believe that heresy is ok to promote on this site, SermonAudio is an open forum and all are welcome to comment within the reasonable "Forum Policies".Walt wrote: I would like to reserve the right to question the author about their heresy, and point out the fact that if they teach it, they are a deceiver. Your right to do so is sure and encouraged. It is not our purpose to suppress spirited discussions nor (and thankfully I might add) to determine who is promoting heresy but rather to ensure that discussions remain generally on topic, meaningful and civil.Walt wrote: Ok, is it ok to call someone a liar or heretic on this site? Please advise. Saying someone is promoting a lie or a heresy accomplishes the same thing but it's doubtful this level of civility can be sustained across all threads on an open forum. I trust this will clear up any possible misunderstandings. Thank you for using SermonAudio and your contributions to these discussions. |

Observer wrote: Moderator Alpha My apologies - offending remarks removed. I'm sorry but it was the first paragraph which caused your post to be removed. You may repost the balance of your post as originally written. If you didn't save it here it is....Dr. Yamil Luciano wrote: And everyone else. Well they were not as lucky as observer. Yes, what a humbling thought. Is it not? That is the Good News the Calvs can give you: He loves me! I am not too sure about you though. Why should someone who saved himself feel any priviledge in being saved? Why should someone who saved himself feel any gratitude for that salvation? Why should someone who saved himself feel that he owes anything to God?Maybe this explains a great deal about you! Pathfinder, Have a blessed Christmas .. what matchless condescension our savior showed! Phil 2.5-11 |

Kevin and PreacherJonD,If you desire to continue your discussion on 1 John 5:7; I ask that you do so in an appropriate thread and allow this thread to return to its topic. Since this is the Christmas season perhaps some of our visitors still have comments on this news item. Your views on 1 John 5:7 are obviously important to you both and perhaps others can benefit from your exchange of views in further discussion. I would suggest continuing your discussion in]]this thread. Thank you. |

Gentlemen,Sermon Audio is an "open forum" open to all users regardless of denomination or theological conviction. We do not seek to discourage contention or spirited discussions. However, we do ask that the Forum Policies be adhered to and that would include refraining from insulting other users by calling them "trolls", "moles" and the like. Thank you for your cooperation. |

JD wrote: You have become cold and hardened IMO and now you seem to have a personal vendetta and your judgment is clouded. I'm sorry you feel that way but I will say that you and I and a couple others know who bears sole responsibility for sowing the seed of strife in the "Street Preaching" thread which led to the removal of several posts..... it was not you. I can't say it any clearer than I already have... "You are free to discuss what you wish with whom you wish. I only ask that you do so in the most appropriate thread available with regard for the reasonable rules." Your IP block will be removed. |

JD wrote: ...it seems I have rankled Moderator Alpha and he is intent on keeping me away drom a particular subject.OK MA, I get the point. I will get off the great commission subject. Give me a break! No, I'm afraid you do not get the point. The point is that these threads have topics and part of my responsibility includes keeping these threads on topic as much as is reasonably possible. I will not have every thread on this forum turned into a Calvinist/Arminian free for all. If a survey thread does not exist for the topic you wish to discuss I would suggest you requst a plus of full member to create one. You are free to discuss what you wish with whom you wish. I only ask that you do so in the most appropriate thread available with regard for the reasonable rules. As you know, this was my request in the "Street Preaching" thread which was once again purged of non-topic comments. Thank you for your cooperation. |

JD wrote: Calvinism says most men are created for the day of destruction without any hope of ever being saved and I am only asking how the gospel is good news to every creature who is created for that purpose. Survey question: "Should Christians Participate In Street Ministry and Open Air Preaching?"This thread has been revived for those who have an interest in the topic. I would like to see it remain on topic. Please take your comments to an appropriate thread. Thank you. |

This thread is a survey and the topic is: "Do you believe that justification is by faith alone? Please defend your vote with a comment."I encourage all users to keep this in mind and not turn this survey into a chat room. Failure to return to meaningful civil discourse may result in thread closure. Thank you. |

JD wrote: I call on the Moderator to give you one warning to cease and desist in this childish behaviour and after this to ban you. If he does not it will show that he definitely favors the calvs and has a double standard like Yamil has accused him of. If I were to act upon your request then I would need to give you the same warning based on the following paragraph from your post:JD wrote: I have come to realize that you would like to participate in the conversation but the subject is way over your head so therefore you resort to these inane contributions. You are a pitiful creature to present yourself as a preacher of the Word of God of which you have a very limited understanding. Instead I will kindly remind you both that you are Christians and Sermon Audio is a Christian discussion forum. Thank you. |

Alan H wrote: I have observed that some use the "reply to comment" tool to quote text out of books or other outside sources. The use of the "Reply to comment" feature to quote outside sources is perfectly fine. Sermon Audio's intent is to make participation in the discussion forum and use of the features as unrestrictive as possible. All we require is regard for the stated "Forum Policies".Thank you for your inquiry. Kenny wrote: Is there any way you could possibly include some way to see Yamil's (or anyone else's) posts which are deleted by the moderator Sorry, but no. Sermon Audio is determined to restore meaningful civil discourse to the discussion forum based on the letter and intent of the "Forum Policies" and comments which do not lead to that end will be removed. Thank you. |

JD wrote: Thanks MA, I needed that! I'm sorry I needed to do it but glad you acknowledged it needed to be done. The removal of a post is but a tap on the shoulder. It is not the solution.Actually I believe great progress has been achieved in restoring civil discourse to the Sermon Audio threads in the past several weeks and I give the credit to all who recognize it is the right thing to do and actively help us achieve that end through cooperation and respect for the Forum Policies. Civil discourse does not preclude spirited discussions nor is it our purpose to discourage contention. Thank you for understanding and your continued cooperation. ___________________________________________________ Alan H., Many thanks for your post 11/14/07 8:53 PM and your supportive comments. I will pass them on to Steven Lee the site owner. As I mentioned above I am quite encouraged by the progress made to this point and look forward to the time when it will no longer be necessary to post warnings or remove comments. The support for Christian civility is strong and I am confident it will eventually overcome the need to be abusive to make one's point. Again, many thanks. |

Spiritually alive Calvinist wrote: Apologies as I wasn't aware that it was censored when I used such and only refering to myself in the sense that it is what certain individuals have addressed ALL calvinists collectively (which included me). No apology is necessary and I understand your point completely. It is unfortunate that catchy lines which serve no purpose but to insult the opposition are ever introduced into these threads but when they are they can spread live a virus if not curbed. Many posts have been removed because of this and seeing the term in the moniker of a victim was the prompt we needed to block the term altogether. We encourage spirited discussions and invite any and all to contribute to the discussions within the reasonable rules of the forum regardless of their theological bent so don't let this unfortunate incident discourage you from further participation. Thank you. |
