When read in context it appears that the flood Joshua spoke of was the flood of fire and brimstone which overthrew Somom and Gomorrah. The timing is right and these words spoken by Jesus add strength to this view:And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. Luke 17:26-30 The other side of the flood is the time before the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah when men served idols and knew not God. |

1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Rom 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because [he eateth] not of faith: for whatsoever [is] not of faith is sin. Jhn 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. It's not how much we can do for God in the form of good works and publishing lists of new sins to merit His favor (for those filthy rags will send one to perdition because it is blasphemy and rejection of the Holy Spirit) but if we live by faith, trusting in Him alone, He will make His abode in us and work His works through us for without Christ in us, the hope of glory, we can do nothing pleasing to the Father. The Vatican publishing new sins is laughable, yet so sad because of the multitudes who swallow up those dregs of spiritual drunkenness to their shame and damnation, for this institution has never known the way of righteousness.... ever. |

I agree Mr. J, The following bears out the inclusivness of the Mosaic covenant:Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; But with [him] that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with [him] that [is] not here with us this day: (For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by; And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which [were] among them): Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go [and] serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood; And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst: The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven. Deut 29:14-2 It is clear that the Egyptians were judged by the curse of the same covenant by which Israel was blessed. |

"How Were Old Testament Saints Saved?"Luk 10:25-28 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. |
