Thank you English Rose and Dorcas, May God bring you His comfort, hope, and everlasting peace that transcends all understanding. _____________________________________________ "Then the Lord God said, 'It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”' ~ Genesis 2:18 (ESV) "Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted." ~ Psalm 25:16 (ESV) "I lie awake; I am like a lonely sparrow on the housetop." ~ Psalm 102:7 (ESV) "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken." ~ Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 English Standard Version (ESV) God bless! |

I am chronically ill and isolated and rarely get a visitor, yet Jesus says: "I was a stranger and you welcomed me," "I was sick and you visited me," and, "I was in prison and you came to me."“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'" ~ Matthew 25:31-40 ESV |

Puzzled wrote: "He said to them, “You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself!" (Luke 4:23a). Jessica, I think you should pray that the Holy Spirit teaches you why Luke 4:23a was spoken. Also, how can you apply it to BH? My, my, my. I am amazed at the longsuffering of God. I am a recipient of this also. He is patient, gentle, kind, merciful, and wanting men to repent. We see this clearly in BH's case. Was he teachable? Did he receive correction from fellow believers? When he is better, do you think he'll visit Sierra Leone and other parts of ebola stricken Africa? Will patients in the same hospital be healed? Or, are Africans the only recipients of his healing powers? Greetings and God bless,As for the proverb: "Physician heal thyself," my concern was that our precious Lord Jesus would hear His people using such hateful words, which He also heard in His time on earth, against another human being made in the image of God. Jesus used to say to people: "Your faith had made you well." Thus, I do not keep it in mind to follow Benny Hinn's teachings, nor do I keep it in mind to condemn him. |

Deuteronomy 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. Deuteronomy 6:9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. God bless you SteveR,May I point out that the words of the commandment which God asked parents to, "teach diligently to [their] children," in Deuteronomy 6:7-9, is in Deuteronomy 6:4 which you did not mention: "'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength." ~ Deuteronomy 6:4 New King James Version (NKJV) Jim Lincoln, thank you for sharing about the children's classes, and may God bless you in your daily study of His Scriptures! |

Andrea wrote: I think it's very sad when Christians refuse to pray for a person,I felt very sad when I read that people will only pray for Benny Hinn's salvation and nothing more.Is that really what Jesus would do? We have to have love for one another,I just felt so grieved with comments that stated they will ONLY pray for Benny Hinn's salvation. We must love one another, and true love,Christ's love prompts us to pray for our brothers and sisters.God truly bless you all. Thank you Andrea, I was also uncomfortable with the comments, especially people using the proverb that was used to condemn, Christ Jesus, our Lord and Saviour: "He said to them, “You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself!" (Luke 4:23a). |

"Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them."~ Colossians 3:19New King James Version (NKJV) "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones." ~ Ephesians 5:25-30 New King James Version (NKJV) ]]Matthew 19:3-12 New King James Version (NKJV) |

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”~ Jeremiah 1:5 New King James Version (NKJV) "And the Lord said to her: 'Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.'" ~ Genesis 25:23New King James Version (NKJV) "But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.” ~ Luke 1:43-45 New King James Version (NKJV) "I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God." ~ Psalm 22:10 New King James Version (NKJV) |

Are we to be like the leaders of The Spanish Inquisition, seaking out people's 'sins' that we may punish with death? Or are we observing The Law of Grace? acknowledging that 'all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God,' and we, as Christ, 'seek to saves men's lives rather than destroy them.' "And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, 'Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?' He said to him, 'What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?' So he answered and said, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ And He said to him, You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.'” ~ Luke 10:25-28 New King James Version (NKJV) “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish." ~ Matthew 18:12-14 New King James Version (NKJV) |

"the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.""Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem, and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him. But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem. And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, 'Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?' But He turned and rebuked them, and said, 'You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.' And they went to another village." ~ Luke 9:51-56 New King James Version (NKJV) "...my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God..." I have struggled with suicidal thoughts in my life starting from ten years old when I heard one of my parents talking about suicide. I wonder about my observations of many people who stereotype and stigmatize people who live on of government benefits as they (the one working) are the ones paying taxes. They will talk down about people on welfare programs as being lazy, addicts, bad parents, violent, selfish, leaches and so on. Moreover, when a person loses their job or is at risk of losing their job (because of health problems or job instability), they may have a fear of going on government assistance - and from that point - all the hate and stigma that they have held for others may be projected onto themselves. It is important that we don't hate those in walks of life different than ours, because we may end up in their situation and then all the resentment toward those persons may result in self hatred and loathing when you are standing in their shoes. This is just a theory I expanded upon from a mental health educational video I watched tonight. My thoughts are not expansive, just pondering and thinking... |
