It's difficult at times to hear the young black haired preacher (sorry, don't know his name). It's a shame as he is doing a great job! Please look into the sound problem so we can be blessed by his teaching and not have to adjust the speakers too much. I only noticed this problem tonight, usually it is fine. “ Dwelling in Unity ” Pastor Powell continues in his expounding of the Psalms of Ascents and brings attention to vs 1 "Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!" Could it be that the reason many do not dwell in unity is because they truly do not desire to worship the "true" Lord and Saviour? Many are without sound Christ-honouring fellowships. If you have a Christ-honouring shepherd/pastor, I plead with you to not take your assembling together for granted. vs 3 "For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore." AMEN!
“ Dark Side series 2009 ” There are several pastors on SermonAudio willing to defend the vulnerable. Dominic Smart is one of those. I noticed the last comment for this message was 2011 - I want to bring attention to it again and pray that "the church" will obey the Word and provide a sanctuary of emotional and physical safety for the oppressed instead of chastising them to forgive and endure more abuse.
“ Psalms of Ascents series ” I was first made aware of the 11th sermon in this series, "Dealing With Abusive Men", Psalm 129. I was so taken aback at the forthright, honest delivery of God's Word in regards to this delicate subject. This prompted me to commence listening to the whole series. LIVING WITH DECEITFUL MEN reminds us that there are those who have "lying lips and ... a deceitful tongue". Although they speak of "peace", "they are for war."
Thank you Lord for Pastor Powell. The downcast and broken-in-spirit need more pastors like him.
“ Bible Meetings 10-16 February 2014 ” I have TRULY ENJOYED watching on ur website the Live Bible Meetings which have taken place in ur church this past week. My only regret is that there has NOT been any Metrical Psalms sung in any of the meetings + Sadly an organ/piano has also being used rather than unaccompanied congregational singing. “ Peace ” I see one of the comments said we have to "live out" the scripture. I get confused as to what "peace" looks like in a persons life. I've been around those individuals who espoused this, but come to find out they basically had what I considered to be a lacksidasical attitude about responsibilities and life in general. I wouldn't think that's peace from God. So does this peace "look" differently on each individual?
“ Sanctification ” I love ink (tatoo's). Since I've become a Christian, I only get biblical scripture or pictures, but have been told I am still just feeding my "fleshly desires". Do you agree with what I've been told?
“ Sin in MY Camp ” Thought by thought; belief by belief; precept by precept; down to what MY problem is. Then MY problem gets hacked, stoned and buried; I am a doer of the Word! What a burden lifted!
“ Perception ” "How I respond to the Word of God will affect my self-perception. The wrong response leads to self-deception; the right response leads to Godly-correction!
