Let's face it, republicans hate democrats and democrats hate republicans. Why not have done with it, have another civil war, and whoever wins can install a dictatorship like they have in Cuba. No more voting, no more time wasting, no more aggro, just get on with living. Life is short, and then it is eternity. Forget this world, which passes away; you have an eternal soul which cannot die. Live for Jesus and no-one else, prepare for the kingdom, give your heart and everything else to Jesus, store up treasure in heaven, preach the gospel, witness to your unbelieving friends and neighbours and strangers, perfect holiness in the fear of the Lord, mortify the flesh, put on the new man, be a wholehearted Christian, care not whether you live or die for HIM.Just as the clock on the top of the Anglican church in Sidmouth, South Devon, England says, "It is time to seek the Lord". God is willing to receive to himself all that truly repent and put all their faith in Jesus Christ. He is worthy to be obeyed, worshipped, served and loved. Jesus is alive, and one day we shall all see him, either as Judge or Saviour. Will we stand at his side, having followed him faithfully? Or will we tremble at his presence, fearful and guilty? |

Adriel wrote: “It is sorrow for the offence rather than for the punishment. God’s law has been infringed, and his love abused. This melts the soul in tears. A man may be sorry, yet not repent, just as a thief is sorry when he is captured – not because he has stolen, but because he has to pay the penalty. Hypocrites grieve only for the bitter consequence of sin. I have read of a fountain that only flows on the evening before a famine. Likewise their eyes never pour out tears except when God’s judgments are approaching. Pharaoh was more troubled for the frogs and river of blood than for his sin. Godly sorrow, however, is chiefly for the trespass against God, so that even if there were no conscience to strike, no devil to accuse, no hell to punish, yet the soul would still be grieved because of the prejudice done to God. “My sin is ever before me” (Psa 51.3); David does not say, “The sword threatened is ever before me,” but “my sin.” O that I should offend so good a God, that I should grieve my Comforter! This breaks my heart!” (Th. Watson) Brother, this quote of Thomas Watson blessed me more than you can imagine. Going back to the old saints sure is needed in these last days; so thank you bro, I appreciate you so much. |

Watcher wrote: Well said, John. Amen, Watcher! Regarding what you said about Facebook, it seems Facebook and women go together perfectly. Especially women with very little to do, who get bored and need some entertainment. I won't go further down that road, but leave it up to the imagination. Regarding this particular woman, if she is a career woman, then as we said right at the start, she has shot herself in the foot. Her career is in tatters, her record will go against her regarding possible future appointments. Regarding her distress, was she being instructed to teach things that were opposed to her Christian beliefs? Then she ought to resign amicably and go somewhere else. It is not up to her to set the curriculum, unless it is a private school, owned and managed by herself. She is an employee, and ought act as such. Teachers in the UK have a union, and she ought to have visited them first if she had a problem. My brother was a teacher, until discipline was removed from schools and made illegal. He said going to school became a miserable experience and he took early retirement. |

Neil wrote: Just a trivial quibble, but to save you and John potential future embarrassment, it's *Turing*. That was my error Neil, and I thank you for pointing it out. I must have subconsciously been thinking of the Turin Shroud. |

Unprofitable Servant wrote: Last I knew it’s good to be angry at sin Brother, with sin all around, and even a remnant of it within ourselves, go ahead and be angry with sin. It will make you continually angry, but hey, who cares? Being angry changes nothing, unless you tell a Muslim the truth about Mohammad, and then your life in this world will change. Have you ever done that, bro? If not, why not? Oh, I know, you have more sense than to do something which is unprofitable. Common sense? Why are you relying on women to preach the gospel? Are you a Joyce Meyer fan? What advice would you give to Joyce? Cease your prattling, woman, and obey the Lord? Get your doctrine straight and stop playing the Jezebel? Get off that platform and leave your TV shows? Could you get angry at those sorts of sins? Brother, the NT says to put off the old man, mortify the flesh, cease from anger and wrath, be a man filled with the Spirit and you will bear fruit of love, joy, peace and so on. |

The Quiet Christian wrote: Indeed, Brother John. Fishing is a relaxing outing that focuses one's mind on the Lord's creation... Absolutely, Quiet Brother. Some of the most beautiful scenes in God's creation are beside rivers (even canals, especially in Holland), lakes, lochs, reservoirs, estuaries and the ocean itself. These sorts of places attract bird life and all sorts of wildlife, plus the bonus of clearer air so that you can breath healthily and see the heavens clearer. |

Good morning Adriel, and a happy Sunday to you also.Thank you for your points, very helpful. Yes, prophetic scripture can only come about, not because God looked into the future to see what was happening, but because he is the author of world history. And if that be true, no amount of flapping about will change one little thing, unless of course it was God's will to change certain things. But then, these things would also appear in the prophetic scriptures, and the scripture cannot be broken, once given. And so the book of Revelations is fixed, and those who try to change history are batting on a sticky wicket. |

Chrisgp, you have written and posted thousands of words on this subject, and I am still none the wiser as to what you expect me to do about it.I wonder, could you answer the question I asked CV a little while ago, which never got answered? What am I doing that you think I ought not to be doing? And what am I not doing that you think I ought to be doing? It seems a simple enough question. Here's a deeper question. Do you believe that God wound up the world and started it ticking and then left it to see what would happen? Or do you believe he is fully involved in everything that happens in the world, even a sparrow falling to the ground? If you believe the latter, what is all the anxiety about? Are you carrying burdens you ought not to be carrying? Jesus said, "take no thought for the morrow", but here you are, all anxious about the Bill Gates vaccine, and trying your best to get everyone else anxious as well. It is not biblical for a Christian to be anxious. Check out Matthew 11:28-30 and apply it. Check out Peter saying, "Cast all your care on him, for he careth for you." Check out Jesus saying, "Fear not, little flock..." Then read "Tortured for Christ" by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand. |
