Just so happened to visit and have to give a comment. Jim, what you rationalize, God's Word defies. Where is there Biblical warrant for the murder of an unborn?
Not so,long ago, the medical professionals told a mother that if she did not choose "pro-death" and murder her child that she herself would die. She maintained her Christian belief and both her and her child lived, contrary to what the doctors assured her would happen.
Jim, since when is the child's life of a lesser value than the mother?

PSALM 139

It used to be when one "heard God" it was taken with fear and trembling and awe! Now they laugh, sign Him up as their BFF and continue on... Our God is a God of love, and slow to anger, but when He's treated as a "cool" God, well, it's mocking Him and it's ungodly and, I dare say, one might make a case for it taking His name in vain. No one will be held innocent who takes His name in vain. Prayers for our youth that our Saviour would do a mighty work for His glory!

Jim, this will "probably" be my last comment but once in a blue moon, I browse s.a. news to keep in touch with Christian current events. Expecting our 10th. grandchild now, time is of the essence.

A pastor's opinion.
Would be - sin's dominion.

Though there's a curse.
Things still get worse.

Though time does rehearse.
The body and the purse.

Lawless disorder.
History's recorder.

Colleges and universities have been hotbed for sexual immorality for a long time. In regards to Penn State, it is about as liberal as you are going to get. I believe they were the first university to sponsor a homosexual convention. Also, Michael Geer, of the Pennsylvania Family Institute, wrote an article in "Capitol Watch", stating how the university actually had a "sex faire", where individuals could enter and engage in whatever immoral activity they desired. Yes, in the good old U.S.A.

Tim F., you stated that the U.S.A. spends more than the rest of the world on its military. First of all, I do not know how anyone could possibly come up with that information accurately. Even if it is true, then maybe we should be thankful for the times when the most powerful nation in the world, is asked by smaller countries, eg., (Kuwait, when, Iraq and Saddam, wanted to annex it by force)to help in it's defense!
BTW, if the U.S.A. Defense is only 20% of the budget and is more money than the entire worlds military spending and the so-called Entitlements (Medicare/Medicaid, Unemployment Insurance and Social Security), equal about 45% of the US budget, then we just might be spending more than 100% than the entire world on socialism!

7/25 post, continued:

Temporary madness.
Brings permanent sadness.
Unemployment, Keynes fixed???
Unemployment, Keynes nixed.

With taxes, you must send.
So, the libs can spend, spend.
The more that you will make.
The more that they will take.

If you are a success.
For certain, they'll oppress.
Unemployment skyrockets.
From us, the gov still pockets.

Coming a big holler.
Valueless, the dollar.
Not worth the printed paper.
Roused to Keynes grand caper.

Libs economic god.
Turned out to be a fraud.
Spend, with no end in sight.
We've hit the end, now night.

Bush, Obama, Gordon Brown.
Failed Keynesian renown.
What these elite don't know.
Should listen to John Doe.

Fiscal advice that's hot.
"Don't spend, what you AIN'T got!"

Now, will people make room?
For the prophets of doom!
Horizon is looming.
Prophets are dooming.

The good news, we do love.
Our banner - a dove.
You're so negative.
Now just let me live.

A reality check.
Less value in your check.
We're also, in debt.
Good news, helps forget.

Government overspent.
Collapse is imminent.
So many defections.
No help with elections.

I pity the next fellow.
If he is yellow.
Common sense leader.
Is no debt breeder.

Congress, year to year.
Has turned a deaf ear.
How many voices.
Say there's two choices.

Further increase debt.
The future - forget!
Go into default.
On wound - throw some salt.

Insane - the former.
Latter - performer.
Keynesian curse.
Depression ends up worse!

Economy bettered???
Don't mind being fettered!
What the norm, should reject.
The norm, now does expect.

A dependent nation.
Assumes, annual inflation.
Liberal revolution.
Polluted solution.

Economics unsound.
Free-markets - are bound.
Unwilling donor.
Every landowner (cont.)

Oh, Mr. Stephen Hawking.
Proud man, fairy tale talking.

Bound in sin - boasting he makes.
Death bed - all his being shakes.

In man's heart - eternity.
Read - Ecclesiates 3.

Now - Biblical truth, denies.
Death bed - the most dreadful cries.

Just stopped by for a minute and noticed our Gov. was in the news. God-ordained government has the power of the just vengeful sword. The office of Governor is the Executive Branch and does not have the authority to make law(this is where the Judicial System overstepped it's bounds with Roe vs. Wade)but rather the Legislative Branch. By his regular inspections maybe many of these death camps can be closed down for various health violations or such.
BTW, I did not vote for Mr. Corbett. His opponent, Rep. Sam Rohrer, is a Christian legislator whose main theme was the elimination of the oppressive property tax(school tax)that is levied here in Pa. The big Republican machine went with the "politician" and Mr. Rohrer had an uphill battle the whole way. I heard Mr. Rohrer speak at the Pa. Homeschool Convention and his principles were all Biblical(he was actually speaking Bible verses and related events).

Michael, correct. It is the normal liberal identification with T. Jeff. quotes. Unfortunately, the quote implying that the later generations should be ready to change our Constitution, because our Founders had a common wisdom, may simply show T. Jeff. foolish pride, which of course is common to all men of all generations.
The Virginia delegation to frame the Constitution:
George Washington
James Madison
George Mason
Edmund Jennings Randolph
John Blair, Jr.
James McClurg
George Wythe

Jim, maybe you would disapprove of young children(under the age of 18), viewing the actual and most awful, heinous, bloody torture and cruel crucifixion of an innocent man?

Jim, I did not have time to read the entire link on the little school but noticed the Hbg. Farm Show Building at the beginning. We have been attending there for the past two decades. The convention in phenomenal and all should attend at least once, homeschool or non homeschooled.

Jim, I have a good read(I have recently purchased)for you, that is probably still available over the net:

"God and Politics - Four Views on the Reformation of Civil Government. Theonomy, Principled Pluralism, Christian America and National Confessionalism."

This book has evolved from a conference to "challenge the evangelical Christian community, and especially Reformed Christians, to think about what implications Christ's lordship held for civil government." "The purpose of the consultation was to clarify areas of agreement and divergence among Reformed Christians in order to achieve consensus where possible, to promote further discussion of differences."

John, you are forgetting a major point of discipleship and of following Christ.
Once a man is born-again from above, he is directly commanded to not forsake the assembling together of other "born-again Christians". This surely is not referring to a person who refuses to leave a false church and assume that a few others who profess Christ are also in this false church and then this person somehow would consider himself justified in his refusal to attend a true church.

II Corinthians 5:17
