Yes, Jacob.

Phil 1.18-
What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice.

I think there are both pros and cons to the passing of this bill.

Pro: A bill was actually passed to allow the Bible in schools!!!! That's a step forward no matter what.

Con: As others have said, the teachers who are teaching those classes are very probably going to be unsaved. That defeats the purpose, doesn't it.

But at least we now have a precedent, right? This is an example to other states to do the same thing.

We should pray that God would glorify himself through the teaching of these classes, and pray that other states would pass the same bill, but improved much more.

[As an aside, from what I've heard: the NASB is the most literal translation of all the ones I know, so it is probably more correct in certain cases than the KJV, although the NASB isn't as euphonic as the KJV.]

Acts 1:6-7~
So when they [the disciples] had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”
He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority."

I think that settles it. (Totally not to mention the several other passages that speak of this in the gospels, of course.)

This is so sad. I have friends in Hawaii; they actually started a URC church there.

Well, God can do all things, and we have to have faith in that; so there is no reason why he can't turn this government around. We just have to trust and pray!

Philippians 4:6-7 ~ Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Even if he doesn't answer our prayers in the way that we ask, he will still give us peace; and if he doesn't grant our requests, then we'll know that personal peace was more important for us in God's sight than that for which we asked, right? What comfort can be had from trusting in Him, Jehovah Jirah…

Your brothers Westcott and Hort....
Who cares about the lives of Westcott and Hort! How many people have God used the ESV and RSV, etc. to SAVE/SECURE/CONVERT/CALL/etc. by the Holy Spirit!?!?!?!! God can use a crooked stick to hit a ball, just like Cyrus of Persia and Evil-Merodach, and the kings of Assyria and Babylonia and Pontius Pilate!
Westcott and Hort translated the Bible just as well and SAVINGLY (that's the main point) as any one else.
I really can't come to the conclusion that God is glorified and pleased with all this wrangling, regardless of all your 'reasons.' Please show me otherwise.

St Jeremiah,

Please e-mail me. Thanks.

St Jeremiah wrote:
High ticket items like homes, vehicle, computers, appliences, ect will lead to temporary indebtedness. A Christian is to purchase what he needs within the means God has given him. This may mean a loan or credit to cover what is not availble in ones personal account. But he is to get out of the obligation by paying it off quickly so as to shorten the obligation to the lendor and return to the better state of being debt free.
Christians who get indebted just to have a certian lifestyle...and pays only the required minimum payment and adds other debts...is not using the means wisely...and becomes a servant to the lendor. Their witness will be tarnished and they will add stressors to their lives that will take their eyes off of living for God.
