Christopher000 wrote: My dad's epitaph is simply, "He's gone home", along with a scripture reference. This past Sunday at my Baptist Church the sermon by Pastor Steve was about Saint Luke 10:25-37. Today I stopped by the church office at my Baptist Church to meet new Associate Pastor Neil. |

John for JESUS wrote: I couldn’t vote for President Trump for some of those same reasons Jim. At the same time, I support him as my President and I have to say, he has done a pretty decent job overall. I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop and it to all go bad somehow. People can change, however he has always been kind of immoral and I doubt his Christian faith. He made money through owning casinos, cheated on his wives, filed for bankruptcy rather than pay off debts, his children have mostly converted to Judaism which he doesn’t seem to concerned about, and I could go on. I really don’t get Jerry Falwell Jr’s point. What is wrong with you? Not voting for Trump was immoral because voting for Clinton was not an option for Christians and voting third party was a waste of time. Trump is truly a Christian because he stated that he had embraced Jesus as his Lord and Savior. |

I also told Pastor Steve that I would not be attending River of Life Church on Christmas Eve because I would be attending Christmas Eve Mass at the local Catholic parish. Pastor Steve did not state that I should not attend Christmas Eve Mass but should instead attend River of Life Church Christmas Eve service." John, I have no doubt that you'll disagree with this, but your Pastor failed you. He shouldn't have stopped short by telling you that he'd prefer you attend where you're a member. He should have explained why, and also dug into why you would ever even consider choosing to attend a Roman Catholic Mass, while claiming to be born again. Pastor Steve did not state that I should not have attended Christmas Eve Mass at the local Catholic parish. Isn't it good enough that I attend the local Baptist Church every Sunday morning without having to cease attending the local Catholic parish on late Saturday afternoon? I will not loose my salvation by attending the local Catholic parish in addition to attending the local Baptist Church. |
