msc - in many ways Santa is Satan; a deciever, a usurper (and a transvestite BTW). A detailed message explaining how and why can be found here:

Just scroll down to 'Santa'

Quote "....convicted in Virginia in 1990 of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm during drug trafficking."

According to Mike Christians have liberty to do this stuff - all things are lawful and all that!

I guess he was only selling produce of the herb of the feilds ater all.

Sounds like a colourful character, wonder what the preaching was about? I can just imagine Fred Phelps doing this - "homos are worthy of death" Pow! Pow! (Just shot the homo stage dummy with the pink shorts).

Only in America....! But hey, at least the congregation didn't go to sleep like they do with the Baptist preachers over here!

Yep, lets do anything and everything except that which we are clearly told not to do.

Jesus was certainly not born in December according to the Holy Bible, and irrespective if you think Christians should celebrate Jesus birth or not the pagan connection to this date cannot honestly be denied.

Neil, the point is that the NT does speak of the church's (singular) title - it is Christ's church and identified simply by it's geographical location. To take on another title or denominational type tag is to play the harlot quite frankly.

But it seems you choose to ignor this.

Neil: "But that doesn't mean churches shouldn't give themselves descriptive names"

Where is this directed or exemplified in NT scripture Neil?

Protestant, does this farmer claim to be Christian?

Seems a good plan to me, could finish each race with a nice barbecue.

"People tend to think of Baptists as very narrow-minded, sometimes mean-spirited and self-righteous"

"There were no fireworks, no conviction of sins...."

Not having a go at you but just pointing out what the preacher should have - that without repentance there is no remission of sins.

God won't even listen to an unrepentant sinner so even their prayers are in vain.

But you said "Governments care not a whit for "the children."

I contend that the principal of government was established by God, thus it is manifest that much of what they do is good, even in this age.

For example the compulsory use of child car seats is stipulated by the government for the protection of children. Yet you would likely argue that it is your right what you do in your car.

I had an American friend who was like this... refused to wear seatbelts because he didn't like them and it wasn't the governments place to tell him what to do in his own car. He is survived by his wife and several young children; he almost certainly would be alive now if he obeyed the seatbelt law.

Yeah, I like freedom too but there is a reason God told us to submit to government authority & that it was a force for good (waiting the the 9/11 troll to hijacker this thread & run it into something now....).

The bottom line is some balance is needed - your house might be your castle but you can't grow dope there and dismember your kids just because you feel you are 'free' to do this.

What is with you Americans?

So smoking around kids actually constitutes protecting them to you?

Whatever. Puff on.... enjoy your 'freedom' to abuse your kids.

What's your problem.... selfishness? Smoke somewhere else if you must, the government is just trying to protects kids from ferals here. Are you pro-abort also; that would be another 'freedom' right?

So do you go to the Lakemba mosque Lance?

Or perhaps it is more because the Catholics mini-god (pope) always does the right thing & even if he is wrong he is right regardless?

So much for being 'Christ's Vicar', what a Godless man!

So lets go out and do whatever is not expressly spoken against in the NT. Must be all good by that logic.

In the Yamillian bible of no good works: "Given a choice I would blot out your name from the book of life but beacuse of OSAS it looks like I'm stuck with you because I can't blot peoples names out anyway. And all the other NT warnings to believers? Well they were..... just for fun really."
