For example the compulsory use of child car seats is stipulated by the government for the protection of children. Yet you would likely argue that it is your right what you do in your car.
I had an American friend who was like this... refused to wear seatbelts because he didn't like them and it wasn't the governments place to tell him what to do in his own car. He is survived by his wife and several young children; he almost certainly would be alive now if he obeyed the seatbelt law.
Yeah, I like freedom too but there is a reason God told us to submit to government authority & that it was a force for good (waiting the the 9/11 troll to hijacker this thread & run it into something now....).
The bottom line is some balance is needed - your house might be your castle but you can't grow dope there and dismember your kids just because you feel you are 'free' to do this.
