I want to mention two things that I have noticed today. First, I love my brother, Yamil, and I was so thankful to see parts of his posts quoted by others in a positive way. Thank you, Yamil. Second, unfortunately, Yamil has been replaced by someone much more arrogant and nasty, Moses. I don't understand why some people on here can't find it within themselves to treat other people with dignity and respect, even though we may disagree. Moses, you damage your credibility by the way you attack people. This same thing was said of Yamil and when a subject was approached differently it had a great affect on many. I'm sure that if you could drop your bad attitude and post with some forethought and respect, we could benefit from your words as well. I'm hoping for the best P.S.-Let's not allow ourselves to be pulled down to the level of those who must attck and be nasty. Jesus didn't and neither should we! |

First of all, there is only one race, the human race. We are all descendants of Adam and Eve. Matt, if there is more than one race, where did they come from? Second, "however the only women who still have traditional biblical values are immigrant". Obviously the women feel the same way about the men, read the previous posts! The problem is not with "the races", the problem is with the cultural christianity in our country (it doesn't help you're from southern CA, Matt ). We need pastors whom will teach what the Bible has to say about godly men and women and then maybe both could find spouses. I have two daughters in their teens. I will be watching very carefully for some godly men for them! |

David, thank you for telling us about your son. I will make it a point to pray for your family. If we all had his child-like faith, we would go far in our christian walk! Yamil, I think you hit the nail right on the head when you used the word, "hunger". What we feed on shows exactly what we hunger for. I know, personally, my hunger for God's Word and fellowship with Him in prayer is not nearly as deep as it should be. I feel all to often the truth of the words from "Come, Thou Fount". "Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it. Prone to leave the One I love." I like the idea of turning the tv off for 30 days and replacing it with God's things. Thank you, Yamil. |

Observer, isn't it interesting that we accuse others of the same thing we are guilty of. I don't agree with Yamil's multiple posts, and I know that you aren't guilty of that, but the attitude you accuse him of is the same one you are now showing. "You are as much a disgrace to fundamental Christianity as TLC was, and with friends like you, who needs enemies?" Is that what Jesus said to Peter when he denied Him three times? Is that what He says to you or me when we "disgrace" Jesus? Yamil has said he will abide by the rules. Cut him some slack and give him a chance. By the way, I hope a return post toward me will not be forthcoming because you don't like my post |

Good evening all! If I may, Wayne, what do you mean by "believe"? Are you using it in the sense of mental ascent to something that is true? Or does it go to a further degree where that believeing affects the way we live? I can believe that a chair will hold me, but I don't actually prove my belief until I am willing to sit in it. If I "believe" in Jesus, and nothing more, I do not have salvation. James said "faith without works is dead". Repentance, godly sorrow for sin, prayer, etc. will be natural outworkings of a faith that "believes". You really cannot divorce the two. To try to simplify it to "faith" is like trying to answer the question, "which comes first, regeneration or salvation, or justification?" They are simultaneous, just like faith and repentance. |

Thank you, David. If we could realize the truth of what you have said, it would humble us to think that God would even choose to use people like us to do this great work of soul winning. This is probably another reason why we need revival:we get so caught up in what WE do when really it is God who does it through us. If it weren't for Him and His power at work in me, I would be nothing. May we be faithful in what God has called us to do, whether it be preaching to 1,000 (and I'm thankful you have this opportunity, Bearer) or simply speaking to one. Evangelist, I didn't disagree with you saying that the true gospel is not often preached. I took issue with the broad brush you used in saying that there are none in America who preach the truth. God told Elijah that there were many who had not bowed to Baal. I think the same is true in the US. Because we can't see them doesn't mean they aren't there. Let's pray that God will bring them forward with boldness to preach the truth no matter what! |
