This appears to be a rerun of the same article, but with a different title. Anyway, thanks Jim for posting that book. Seems to be a good read and accurate in evaluation of Mr. Schuller's doctrine.

No problem, Mike. I hope you and yours are doing fine either way.

I think the Crystal Cathedral is still part of the RCA. However, it can hardly be called reformed, considering what goes on there. I guess, Neil, this is one of those churches trying to imitate the "real thing." I remember as a boy going to see one of the plays there...they have big Christmas and Easter re-enactments. Looking back, I wonder about it, but at that time I was not too concerned with Biblical purity and was still steeped in word-faith worship and doctrine.

Not in the least bit offensive, Neil. I can learn from it, I think.

Good point, Neil. I sensed the sarcasm. I think you and I went around with this a long time back and you came at me with a similar sarcasm, but I got the point and still get it. Your point of view is based on the Regulative Principle, right?

Maybe that is the impetus behind this squabble. And like a lot of faith teachers, they are not saying much about what the issue is.

Just looking at the titles in the contents, I would say Pink's work makes sense to me. I glanced at the section about God's sovereignty and salvation. God is sovereign, no doubt and that certainly gives me peace. Give it a whirl, Mike.

Hi Mike. How goes it? Enjoying a beautiful fall in the adirondack's, no doubt.

As for Palin, I don't know what to make of her. Her statement sounds pious enough, but that alone won't do.

Ah yes, but that animal was not very free until it was set free. And as Jesus relates he was sent to set captives free(not much free will in a captive) and has commissioned the congregation to do the same.."As my Father sent me, so I send you..."

Salvation is of the Lord(Jonah 2:9)
The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.(Psalm 119:22,23)

Good words, Wordworth and Mercy. Salvation was and is God's work and God's decision.

Of course not, Biblethumper, but I agree that in a certain way it could be considered murder...at the very least sinful and contrary to God's order. That is why I said it makes sense to me.

Excellent point, Pikestaff. Celibate or not, unrepentant homosexuals are not to be in the pulpit.

Good points from Kenny and CMT. I think more often than not, the attention goes to the musician.

I think Neil makes some good points. A lot of people are fed up with the cafeteria styles catering to emotions. Much of the Protestant churches are falling into confusion liberalism and emotion driven strategies and people are giving up and looking for something else because such strategies do not heal the soul and conscience. Unless Protestant churches get back to a solid Scripture Alone position, this trend will continue.

Hi Jim. Yes, John Huss, of course....100 years before Martin Luther. Didn't miss him, just haven't mentioned him, but am very aware of his work.
