Who cares if he takes Baptist off the church - good, because he obviously isn't one!

Noreen, it's the Churches fault. II Chronicles 7:14 is written to God's people, not the lost.
Churches have long ago decided to do away with holy and separated living. The Calvinists (not all) have spread their doctrine and now no one sees a need to go door-to-door soul winning (except some IFB churches). We have no right to complain about the situation in America because light repels darkness, and the only reason darkness grows is because the light is hidden.

Lester Roloff said back in the 70's
"The day America lost it's chance for revival is the day the television was invented."

I think he was right.

It's our job to spread the gospel; and when hearts are regenerated and changed, then will a country be changed.

I have the Defined KJB...I really enjoy it. Dr. Waite seems to be pretty exceptional in his defense of the KJB.

Sometimes you wonder if the begining of this current abomination in the USA didn't begin with another abomnation which became more prevalent after WWII.
I'm talking about women wearing that which pertaineth to a man, and a man putting on a womans garment. This is also called an abomination, but is disregarded in many churches and lives today.
We ALWAYS reap what we sow.

"Baptist" has nothing to do with it! There are many Fundamental Baptist Churches out there that are growing and fervently preaching the Gospel.

Minnow - you're right....LIBERALISM.

As for the quote - this is not how TRUE Baptists believe, as history will also support. Yes, we are priests and kings unto God, but we do not interpret the Bible on our own terms, NOR is it on the terms of a board or Confession. I think the quote could have been worded a little better than it was. And, the SBC does not represent true Baptist Churches.

Oh...Calvinists interpret the Bible their own way also.

"Add to that is the inexorable logic of his position, and the many statements he has made which clearly amount to saying that anyone who rejects that Dispy system cannot be saved."

I hate to say it, but this thought of only those who agree with such and such are saved, has been very plainly stated in a previous post that all "Christians are Calvinists."

You might not have said it, but it does come from Calvinists as well. I hope you are speedy to reject their thoughts as well as the "Dispy's" (although I totally reject the thought that only people who hold to certain peripheral beliefs can be saved).

So if some get more faith, and faith IS salvation, do some have more salvation than others?

If faith is given more to some than others, how can it be one in the same with salvation when salvation either is or isn't?

When we read of a man after God's own heart leaping (we don't really fall) into sin, we know that our flesh is capable of the very same, and worse.
Solomon is the perfect example of where a life goes when God is pushed out.

It seems to me that on this site the Westminster Confession of Faith is the end -all to Bible Doctrine.

Why?

I don't know if "BS" is the most Christian thing to write. I never really planned to be on such a website to have such terms used that bring my mind to ungodly language. It would be nice if the moderator would screen such language.

I know, I know, I'm a little overboard. But if I were on a secular website, I would expect it. But that is why I try to stay away from such places.

"let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth..."

Very sad.

"But by the grace of God there go I..."

Unfortunately, the enemies of God have been given fodder to mock the living God.

The reason Eph. 2:8-9 is dissected so much is because people use it for a proof-text for the position that says faith is a gift.

This verse doesn't say that, and I'm not sure if there is one that does state such.

OK, this might sound confusing...but here goes...
If faith is part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, is it possible for someone to be indwelled by the Holy Spirit without repentance. And if you can agree that repentance is necessary, then how can God grant faith to be saved, which is salvation according to some, before repentance? Would they not be saved before they were saved?

I am still trying to find a verse that states faith is a gift. Can someone smarter than me find me one?

Thanks!

Faith is not a gift...salvation is a gift.

Eph. 2:8-9.

A close grammatical study will show that the subject of a sentence can not be in a prepositional phrase, thus, "Grace" nor "Faith" is the gift. The word "salvation" is the subject that "it" is referring to.

It just seems to me that if one is working so diligently to make a Palestinian state, and is pressuring Israel to give up the Golan Heights, and such, that in principal, he is aiding the Palestininans to gain land that is not theirs, hence giving Israels land away.
It's like Canadians squatting on Noth Dakota, and France coming in and telling us to give them the land. France would be giving our land away, in essence.

Either way, President Bush does not have a Biblical world view. BUT,"the Kings heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water, and he moveth it withersoever he wills."

God's people get the leaders they deserve.

Isn't it good for BJU to support Bush?
Bush is Reformed, and is giving away Israel.

What's bad is, his recanting of his statements is probably a lie. He still believes that Rome is the whore of Babylon, but is "to entangled with the affairs of this life" to stand strong.

3] Ro 1:7 "To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ."
= Well according to God it can happen.

Yes - Luther could have joined the true church already at Rome. You are confusing the one Constantine began, which was not the Church Jesus built. The Potestants came out of the church Constantine built, and never came to the true Church. Luther hated the true Church (the anabaptists), and wished them gone.
Luther didn't want truth, he wanted Rome restored to Augustinianism.

Do some history lessons, it might be enlighten you as it has me.

"Ah yes;
We see again the observation of one who thinks that Truth only recently arrived in the 20th century???
Tell me do you folks also believe that the Bible was written in the 20th century???
Believe it or not the Truth was read and recorded in previous centuries by the True Church, now known as Protestant Reformed, who coined the phrase "Sola Scriptura" amongst other Solas" "

Huh?? I don't think I am understanding you.

How can the Protestant Church be the TRUE church when it came out of Rome? Do you people ever use any deductive reasoning? How could the Church Jesus built be in Rome? It was Rome who was killing them. And It was Luther who could have joined the pre-Rome True Church, but he joined in the hatred of the true Church.

You can not be intelectually honest and say that the Church Jesus started was not in existance, (and under persecution) before, during and after Rome.
