Racism?

All mankind is equally depraved and most are racist. "I have a dream.." was not fulfilled in this election as we have almost 100% OF ONE RACE voting for the same race! Wow!
Personally, I will vote for the individual who holds to the values that I believe are right irregardless of race or party.

Anti-antichrist,

Billy Graham would be the discipliner as a younger father not the disciplined.
I know of no one who would give the rod of discipline to an infant. Sensationalism to avoid obeying God's inspired Word leads to family disruption and cultural acceptance.

San Jose John,

Biblical chastisement is God's ordained manner of discipline. There is much from Scripture in this regard but in general God tells us that foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child and the rod of discipline will drive it far from him. Your observation that the child's will may vary in degree of hardness is correct but all hearts are sinfull.
Scripture informs us that one may turn and have his will broken with the hint of discipline while another may have 100 lashes and still resist in stubborn rebellion.
Nevertheless, "all children are foolish" and God's remedy is the rod.
This of course must be done out of love and not anger as well as training from God's word concerning the offence, etc.
Whether we know it or admit to it or not the Lord chastises those whom He loves with the rod probably many times.

Vogue,

We desire to be called,pro-life(however the socialist media will also refer to us as anti-abortion, with the seemingly negative connotation of anti in many peoples minds).
They desire to be called pro-choice(we refer to them as pro-death).

Your general definition of pro-choice extends its belief to the unqualified exclusion of the murder of unborn child.

This is the first time that I have ever heard of it explained in this way. Could this be to justify voting for a so-called pro-choice politician?

Can you name me one politician who "agrees" with the common denomination of pro-choice and yet is against abortion on demand?

Tom Ridge is pro-choice therefore he is for the killing of the unborn.
Will you vote pro-choice(pro-murder)?

I do not give respect to "murder as a right" to anyone!

JOHN 3:36

Vogue, Calif,

There is no Biblical or Constitutional right to murder anyone. Neither the woman or the government have the right to murder an unborn child!
Sir, if you were pro-life, you would not give respect to murder as a "right" to anyone.

A statement from a holy servant of Christ comes to mind often.

In, "The Lives of the Puritans", Vol III, by Benjamin Brook, we find the chapter:

Mr. Hooker wished to be abased and the Lord alone to be exalted. He dreaded outward ease and prosperity, as that which was most likely to bring the Lord's people into spiritual adversity. When at the land's end, taking his final leave of England, he said, "Farewell, England; I expect now no more to see that religious zeal, and power of godliness, which I have seen among professors in that land. Adversity has slain its thousands, but prosperity its ten thousands. I fear that those who have been zealous christians in the fire of persecution, will become cold in the lap of peace."

Christians be sober!

Scripture is inundated with references to chastisement, especially Proverbs as others have posted. As for looking for bruise marks the Bible states that he will not die because of the blueness of the wound.
This was inevitable her in America and times can change quickly. Christ will secure for Himself a holy people. Are we ready for real persecution? A quote from a puritan who founded Hartford, Conn. some 350+ years ago. I will post Mr. Thomas Hooker as he was about to leave England for America as soon as someone else posts on this forum so there will be sufficient space.

Barry from Ky,

If you are for Obama, you are NOT against abortion! Respectfully sir, there is no doubt about that.

As far as other lesser priorities such as the economy, the socialist media has timely manipulated the populace to not have any confidence in the current president(I am not a Bush or Rep. Party enthusiast). Even moreso the 70+ years since the FDR debacle that launched this country into entitlements and indifference to customary inflation and congressional deficit spending, it was only a matter of time before the economy collapsed. This most socialist candidate will do further harm although the recent bailout consiting of paper prosperity without any backing has done irreversable harm and the economic doom is at hand.

Barry from Ky,

Voting for Obama and abortion is just a talking point!!!

No matter what side you are on theologically (if you are born-again), the killing of the unborn is murder which always brings about judgment from God.

Ecclesiates tells us that science can never actually find out about the life in the mother's womb which is a great work of God!

Brit from UK,

Greetings! The far majority of Americans have been brainwashed into believeing that our country is a democracy and not a republic. As far as republicans, the American Christian can be held into account for voting for the least of two evils through the latter part of this century resulting in a two-party system that now resemble one another. Ironic in this election that the socialist Dem. Party is demanding fiscal responsibility and the Rep. Party candidates speak of permissible abortion(situational ethics). Forecast...American Christians will continue to vote for evil.

Enough Already,

As far as scriptural authority-Amen!

As far as Proverbs 31, this is actually a condemnation of "some" of todays Christian feminists(this is not an oxymoron per se, as I believe they may be truly born-again but simply refuse to abide by the Word of God as their standard). If wives today would imitate this noble lady then not only would families be blessed but also the church and the nation would be better off.

CMT and Webwatch,

Amen! Even though the Scriptures no where state that the husband should be submissive to the wife in authority, they get off of the beaten path and instead of repentance they stay their course and sidestep the issue instead of submitting to God and Scriptural authority.

RV,

in regards to Romans 13, it has already been posted on one of these forums about Miss Palin that if she were to take the oath it would be as a consequence of God's judgement.

Christiana,

Greetings! It all begins with James 4:7 and submitting to God.

You said:
He fails to mention that "husbands and wives are called to 'submit' to one another.

I do not read that. In the context of the verse Paul is instructing all of the familial order to be in submission to the God-ordained authorities. No where in Scripture do we find the command for man to be submissive to his wife. This would lead to total disorder and a breakdown in the family unit.

Notice in the context, IF the husband were to submit to the wife, THEN Christ would have to submit to the church in verse 24. This of course is heresy.

"trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord." Ephesians 5:10

Mike,
Thank-you, for the reminder about the needed scepticism of internet photos as I have stated this same need for caution in previous posts concerning the conspiracy theories. Irregardless of the veracity of the alcolol pictures it is clear that her unwed pregnant daughter is either unsaved or back-
slidden.

Rogerant,
I could not find the article. T.Paine was not a founding father. His writings on "Common Sense" and the "Rights of Man" helped energize the masses but he had nothing to do with the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence. Looked down upon as a sceptic in America he later lived an obscure life in France.
A "few" infidels(such as Jefferson) helped frame the foundation of this country however even he was kept at bay if things contrary to the Bible were seen as trying to intrude. After visiting France,Jefferson wanted to help establish the Library of Congress by donating his library. The founders gave them a thorough going over and did not permit most of them to be offered as they were said to have had Enlightenment influence.
It would be needful for you to check out all of the names Engineer has listed as well as the majority of the founders, such as Bejamin Rush.

Locke,

Thank-you, for the revealing photos. However, as many Christian parents well know, unfortunately there are prodigals and even some children of Christian parents who are not saved. It is not always the mother or parents fault though.
Btw after listening to the last half of her interview with Mr. Gibson, I now have reservations about some of her values, including a positive
inclination towards a feminist egalitarian social elitist position(as a recent poster accurately portrayed it in this forum). Whether her views are completely Biblical or not I remain opposed to her family priorities, especially with an unwed daughter being pregnant through fornication. She may or may not of had control over this action but she has control over her choice now on whether she should be there training her children along with her husband. BTW these pictures make my heart break being a father of four daughters myself.

Engineer,
Amen. Hard to believe but there still remains gross ignorance about America's founders concerning deism. The "reverse" is true concerning the statement about Mr. Witherspoon. By the way even today some may still be using the Bible
made famous by one of the founders-Mr. Thompson. If only we had some of the spiritual Biblical insight of Mr. John Jay, America's chief justice during the war. A descendent of French Huguenots and former president of the American Bible Scociety he boldly proclaimed his belief in Jesus Christ in religious conversations with atheists.
At the death of his wife John Jay took his children into a room and began to read from I Corinthians 15.
Monaghan, John Jay, p. 428. One might compare the death of his brother Peter Jay in 1813. A commited Christian, Peter said to John, "I am going fast-through the mercies of my Savior, I shall receive everlasting life and happiness in less than two days." William Jay, Life of John Jay, I:450.(A footnote from, "Christianity and the Constitution", by John Eidsmoe.)
Years back I heard Mr. Barton speak at the Penna. Home School Convention in Hbg.,Pa. Wallbuilders is one of many good ministries upholding the truth of the "Biblical" founding of America.

Daniel Lee Ford,

Amen. Mrs. Palin has good Biblical values but I wonder about her priorities with her daughter and submission to her God-designed role.

Rogerant,

What Founding Fathers were deists?
Stay tuned for more of Engineer's Con. Par. future posts with the likes of Samuel Rutherford's "Lex Rex" and others quoted. The Francis Schaeffer quote is worth a thought.
