charles m,

Greetings! Rick Warren went to Fuller Seminary. I happen to own a book about understanding church growth by Donald McGavran, who is believed to be the father of the Church Growth Movement. His approach is actually more of the social sciences than Biblical Theology.
Peter Wagner also went to Fuller as well as another famous Christian author on leadership today(his name slips me at the moment)

I do pray for this man, that he might be saved and adopt a Christian worldview, however on the positive side the church seems to have a more vibrant witness for the Lord whenever real or heavy persecution is present(we don't wish for but we welcome persection with a, "Yes, Lord, help us to be strong attitude.")
Presently, our president has a clear aim - control!
This issue has security as the side issue with control in disguise.
Immediate uproar over Bush's Patriot Act(which was a reaction to terrorists)and now silence over many possible government controls.
Even the tea party tax protests seem to be waning in interest.
The people in the U.S. are basically starved for objective reporting, information, or the reading of history(especially before it was rewritten)and are content on reading the daily newpaper.
The leftist media has drowned out any real, persevering opposition to government control.

John Yurich,

You ask/state: what is wrong with Roman Catholics and Evangelical Protestant getting together at abortion clinics to protest?

Well, I used to do this on weekends not long after the Lord saved me. I became bothered by the leader(a prominent young doctor in another area of Pa.)who purposely would back unto the property as he yelled through his bull-horn. This he did continually as they drove him away in the paddy wagon.
I had recently been converted and wanted to obey the Lord no matter what.
I even sought out pastoral counsel concerning civil disobedience at these death camps. As I saw him carted away I became convinced that this product of rome was doing this continually so he could be looked upon highly.
I began to actually hate all of the idol worship(medal, statues, prayer at cathedrals, etc.).
Although, it is a witnessing opportunity, I then began going to other large protests where other believers would also be present.
It was a very personal thing with me and I do believe in ecclesiatical separtion for certain main doctrines but I don't think that really applied here. I am not now a big protesting type and have always had evangelism as my main prioity. The gospel of rome is another gospel and not the gospel of the Bible.

the right to die,

My point was that to make it unlawful to own a gun or severely limiting that right, will not eliminate the ownership of guns to criminals. Sir, their are others tools for efficient and effective mass murders besides guns. A clear aim is the eventual elimination of all guns by a constitutional amendment, including those being used by millions of hunters.

You said:
"...other countries..."
Could you name them(plural), please?

"...problem to the extent the U.S. has..."
Statistics with the appropriate sources, please?(percentages with ratio of gun-related crimes to population)

Although, I have at times wrestled with the trust issue, as far as Christians being hypocritical who own guns for personal protection - do you take medicine or trust God?

______

John Yurich,

Does your previous statements of believing in "only" the so-called Biblical doctrines of rome include that of mortal sin?

This is expected but nevertheless deeply troublesome. Brethren, keep the faith in a holy boldness. The field is indeed white unto harvest.
Even at pro-life events we will find that many are Roman Catholics and most are unbelievers.
Soon after the Lord brought me to Him, (1985), I used to take my first two daughters(around ages 4 and 5 then) to a local "death camp" in the Harrisburg area. We all held signs and I still remember the one that said "The Law of the Land, Is Second In Command - Psalm 139:13-16" There were always those passerby's who would curse or give obscene gestures.
The interesting thing is that most of the people would use typical "born-again" language but after talking with them one came to realize that they were Romans or simply religious adherents of another organization.
Are we Christians now worthy to be trampled upon?

the right to die,

So, now you want to take the guns out of the hands of hunters who are thoroughly educated concerning gun safety and overthrow their constitutional rights.

Just as many mass murders happen at a moments notice with bombs, mainly by terrorists. The bombs will always find their way into the hands of those with terroristic ambitions and the same applies to guns and criminals, no matter what the law allows or forbids.

itsabouttheremnant,

"...seperation considered..."

There may be room for extreme instances of physical abuse, otherwise spousal seperation for marital problems is a pop psychology solution. A sound Scriptural principle teaches that it is not a good situation to physically deprive one another except when both parties are in agreement and then both parties are in devotion to prayer. Because of self control issues it seems to imply that this is but of short duration. I Corinthians 7:5

Publican,

"...promises(oath)to heretics need not be kept..."
Once again we see rome's statements of contradiction, similar to the so-called church fathers of whom they venerate.

According to their doctrine of mental reservation it is never proper to lie even to heretics unless one gave a promise of secrecy. This promise(oath) is primary.

Lance,

Let them hang on until they retire and then maybe the replacement will be better?
Nonsense, this is the cult of Rome! You did give a great truth though: "...plenty of BAD BISHOPS in the rcc...".

This bad bishop of the Hbg. Diocese that you refer to is none other than the Cardinal from the U.S. William Keeler! ! !
- Sec. to Bishop Leech during the infamous II Vatican Council in Rome.
- Chairman of the N.C.C.B.'s Committee for Ecumenical and Religious Affairs, 1984-1987.
- Arranged meetings with Jewish and Protestant leaders during the 1987 papal visit.
- President of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, 1992-1995.
- Pontifical Council for promoting Christian Unity in the fall of 1994.

As you can see he is Mr. Ecumenism himself. I told my wife some twenty years ago that he would be a future pope trying to unite the faiths under popedom. It would also be a wise move politically for Rome to have a pope representing the U.S. as this would greatly increase popedom worship.

Simply another bad bishop because he has his own righteousness and not of Christ's.

John Yurich,

Your opinion of course. "The Catholic Witness", the official newspaper of the Harrisburg Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church, SUPPORTED Michael Dukakis for President of the United States! Of course they were not speaking "ex cathedra". This was not hidden but displayed prominently on the front page! Surely, the bishop of this states capitols diocese would have rebuked the editor! Or maybe it should have went a step up the hierarchy ladder and the bishop of the archdiocese of Philadelphia should have rebuked the Hbg. diocese. Or maybe the pope since he has disdain for this nations bishops anyway!

Come out of her, John.
Only in Christ Jesus - "yourrich".

False churches "roam" all over the place.
Nothing new here. Remember the support of "Rome" for Mr. Dukakis(outspoken abortion advocate)when he was nominated by the Dems?

Already this president has abused his authority enough to be impeached. Remember, Hitler was a socialist turned fasist.

Total government control, that could be where we were headed folks. Talk about oppressive taxes on a "private" business.

Of course there is greed(human nature-no surprise here)but socialism is stifling more than the economy.

Btw, my wife and I have been homeschooling for the past couple of decades and we decided long ago that we would never take any handouts from the government because of the possible control issue no matter what the cost(having to buy school supplie and our own curriculum and having to pay double by also incurring the local school taxes).

U.S. Socialist,
With a fist.
This is the gist.

Neil,
btw, I read the link you posted by the prof. from Chicago U. Very good, esp. showing how all the Univ. textbooks are against any financial stimulus package.
Incredible how all the economists now know how this and Keynesian economics has failed for the past half a century yet are still advocate its implementation whenever they talk to one another.

Robert,
Greetings, I have to give you an, Amen! Especially with Ephesians 5:26. But, there is nothing wrong with making a strong, uncompromising stand on your Biblical beliefs. It is that the innuendos and the sometimes maybe deceptive answers to questions concerning their statements if so and so is actually what they meant, etc. We are all brothers and sisters in the Lord and we should behave accordingly. I actually enjoy reading some of these(don't have the time to read or comment every day) but the personal attacks are actually sins of the flesh.
I hope the defense of Biblical election continues but maybe a bit of repentance is called for.

Alan,
Amen, brother! One of my favorites is:

"I know that You can do all things,
And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted."
JOB 42:2

I would say that Mr. Obama is the worst president since Bill Clinton. Both are downright evil when it comes to the moral issues of "pro-murder", "pathos" and others sometimes in the socially glorified name of science. As a matter of fact even the, "Republican Contract With America", which was basically sound was actually basically flawed because Newt and Co. decided that they would stay away from the moral issues(abortion and homosexuality)because they would be too controversial and would possibly hinder the cause.

Robert, you are "right on"!!!
Neil, I printed the Chicago U. article to review later. Thanks!

There is much being debated on a couple of these forums concerning the extent of Christ's atonement in the form of Scriptures, theology and comments from different reformed scholars, including John Calvin.

The following will be very helful:

Kurt Michaelson,

Victor Budgen, states that HE WAS THERE when Mr. Wilkerson made his infamous false prophecy in 1972. If this information was coming second hand from me it of course would be hearsay however, it is a quote from Mr. Budgen, who witnessed the false prophecy personally.

According to Jeremiah and elsewhere in Holy Writ, we KNOW that God did not speak through a man when what he prophecies does not come to pass.

So, I presume you have stored your months to 7 years supply of non-perishable foods?
Joseph, was a true prophet of God! It would be wise to listen to him.

False prophet, indeed.
"The Charismatics and the word of God, a biblical and historical perspective on the charismatic movement", by Victor Budgen, 1985, Evangelical Press, on pg. 11, states converning Mr. Wilkerson's 1972 prophecy:
"I prophesy that within the next TWELVE MONTHS the Berlin wall is coming down and there is going to be free access to all Iron Curtain countries including Russia."
Budgen had mentioned Jean Dixon prior to this and continues:
"Christians will readily dismiss the former(Dixon), expecially when they know that she often uses a crystal ball and deck of cards given to her by a gypsy fortune-teller, although she has correctly predicted many things ... But what of the latter? He himself would claim that an earlier vision of 1958 was fulfilled in every detail. And yet the Berlin wall(at that time)still stands as firm as ever. Is all prophecy, whether clearly pagan or supposedly Christian, a hit-and-miss affair, with striking successes and abysmal failures?
So I guess those who are for his storing up of a minimum of a months supply of non-perishable goods have done so or will be doing so.
