I also agree that the Beatles have had a tremendous anti Christian influence on this present generation, and Ill even go a step further and say that Aliester Crowley has had the most anti Christian influence upon the present generations, for he influenced the Beatles (youll find a picture of him on the Beatle's sgt peppers album) and his famous quote "Do what though wilt shall be the whole of the law" basically defines the attitude of the western world. In studying the evil influence of rock music, and studying the satanic roots of the modern UFO phenomenom, I was led to this one man.
Ray Kroc, the man who made the restaurant McDonald's into an empire, literally built it on the back of churches - in the early days he would fly over an area looking for the church steeples and this was often a determining factor as to where he would place a restaurant.

God bless & peace be with you!

The last church I attended regularly seemed to have solid Biblical teachings in the sermons, yet the behaviour of a retired pastor caused me to issue a complaint to the present pastor.

The situation: I was sitting with another woman and her daughter after church while we were eating together, and the little girl was saying to her mother that she was feeling hot (she didn't look well and her skin was flushed). When the retired pastor heard what the little girl had told her mother he said: "The ladies do tend to get a little hot when I enter a room!" I was very offended that he would say this of the nine year old girl's remarks, and the jest that any women or girl would have any sort of sexual arousal over him even jokingly was sickeningly to me.

I reported it to the pastor who talked about it with other members of the church who decided the remark was not offensive ~ I was also blamed by the present pastor for having a skewed view, and was ordered by the pastor's wife to talk with the retired pastor privately to resolve the issue between ourselves, citing Matthew 18:15 ~ I was too uncomfortable to talk to him privately because I didn't trust him and I left the congregation also on account that the congregation was comfortable with the retired pastor's sexual jest.

"Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." ~ Matthew 5:10-12 KJV

Praise God for this dear woman who did not shrink back from faith in our Lord and Messiah!

I find it interesting that what is in style for men would be considered suitable for attending church services, yet what is 'fashionable' for women promotes the sexualization of women.

The change in fashion trends is part of an industry money maker often referred to in sociology as 'perceived obsolescence'; the change in fashion most often causes the consumer to acquire the perception that there is something wrong with their clothing because it is no longer 'in style'. Thus, the consumer will discard useable clothing and purchase alternate goods which they believe will cause them to fit in socially.

I used to work at a thrift-shop when I was young and was disheartened to see dumpster upon dumpster full of women's clothing sent to the garbage dump (often two a week) as the clothing was not perceived as stylish. As women, I believe we need to stop being victims of the fashion industry, by spending countless dollars and wearing fashions which may ruin the reputation.

In essence, as women we need to pay special attention that we do not conform to this world, in areas such as fashion and behaviours.

God bless, hope & peace to you all!

Men and women both have a responsibility to dress and behave modestly — men and women equally, have a moral responsibility to abstains from worldly lusts — Example: I have been to churches where the the women are ALL dressed modestly (with long dresses, skirts, and long sleeves) and the majority of the men looked like they dressed straight out of a GQ magazine, all in nice suits with slick hair. In more modern churches I have seen men in the worship team and pastors dressed like rock stars. I have seen both men and women dress and behave immodestly in church settings, particularly, with men wanting to lay hands on women to pray, or making sexually inappropriate jokes. Our christian men need to step up, and help congregations obey and love God in wholesomeness and in truth!

Jessica, you wondered how pastors are going to help women who come into churches with sexual sins that need dealing with. Well, can I ask: do they need to, and should they?
I think it would be unwise for them to "minister" to these women. Surely there would be some Godly women who could guide these other women! We've been reading of men falling after trying to deal with some of these issues by themselves. It's dangerous and foolish from my perspective. There is an enemy trying to catch anyone like this unawares.
I agree, yet most churches I have been to do not have women's ministries in place, and women are left trying to ask the male pastors for spiritual help. The men as well as women need to be transformed by the renewing of their minds, and see women as sisters and mothers (1 Timothy 5:2) and not objects of sexualization as the media portrays them.

"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." ~ Matthew 26:41

I agree, as christian women we need to dress in a chaste manner — however, the church should be prepared for unsaved women visitors who need the knowledge of salvation — the church needs to be a place where visiting unsaved women (who may be dressed immodestly) get treated as more than sexual objects for once in their lives — if 30% of christian pastors struggle with pornography, how are they going to be able to effectively minister to women who are stuck in sexual sins who walk through the church doors, and this, with the grace and dignity as Jesus treated women of reputation?

Jessica, glad you are posting also. Your posts do bless me and I know God does not expect to do more than we are able. I, too, have had to slow down a lot because of health issues and I post here as one thing I can do. If you have RA then you do have a very hard time. My sister-in-law has that same disease and Lupus. She still can get around but never knows what will happen in the future. She was in a trial study to test a new drug and did so well, she believes she taking the real thing and not a sugar pill. Blessings and prayers dear sister. Please keep posting.Btw sometimes I post as Ginger
Thank you for your testimony!

The model of marriage from the beginning of the creation of mankind was one man and one woman, yet many men written of in The Old Testament practiced polygamy. On-the-other-hand, when Sarah asked Abraham to send Hagar his second wife away, God asked him to adhere to her request:

"The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto them, 'Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,' And said, 'For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?'"

Matthew 19:3-5 KJV

"And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called."

~ Genesis 21:12 KJV

"Then were there brought unto him little children, that [Jesus] should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. As a reminder, a woman does not have to be married and a beautiful actress to be a fulfilled woman. Sometimes, God calls a christian woman into the mission fields as He did Amy Carmichal that went to India to minister to Indian children. Even as she was bedridden in pain after an accident, she was still a blessing in her writings. I am blessed every morning by reading her little book of devotionals. This is only one example of an unmarried woman that God used, Corrie ten Boom was another. Both of these and many more were fufilled, Christian women in God's will for their lives.
Amen Delores, I am encourage by your post, as I am in no shape for missions with my health!

A church member presence is expected on a regular basis for church services.
~ Jim,

Jesus said, "I was sick, and ye visited me," and also He said, "[W]here two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

Moreover, if people visited the sick, and assembled together with them (where the sick reside); the assembling being in Jesus' Name; the chronically ill who are shut-in in their homes, nursing homes, and hospitals... then the scriptures of assembling together, and visiting the sick would be fulfilled. Until there are men to carry the sick to church as did the men who lowered the sick man through the roof lowering him unto Jesus ~ I believe that it cannot be required for the chronically ill to attend Church services.

I have been willing to be carried into services, and have had no one to help me!

~ Penny, Thank you!

As a shut-in, I am thankful for all the church presence online ~ yet, I wish more church-buildings had accommodations for persons with disabilities: such as specially equipped washrooms, seating to accommodate persons with hip replacements, and wheelchair/walker access, but sadly many do not!

In addition, I also believe pastors need to advocate their congregations to visit and help people who are shut-in!

I'm not a coffee drinker: My husband and son drink coffee and it is an answer to my prayers that they drink organic fair trade coffee ~ I hate to think of workers being exploited ~ also, I would like to buy fair trade cocoa, because it really upsets me that worker exploitation is also common with the harvest of cocoa beans.

I have lived in Canada all my life and have a tough time wrapping my mind around the gun culture of the USA. The promotion of guns by Church groups just doesn't seem gentle to me, and makes me very uncomfortable.

The truth is, polar bears and penguins do not need ice and extreme cold temperatures to survive. The animal's food sources live below the ice, where they hunt for food in the wild. But they can be kept alive in confinement without ice and extreme cold temperatures.
