To Jim from Nebraska,

When using the emoticons (smilies) in your comments, all you need to do is click on the smilie you wish inserted in the text. You do not need to include the URL of the image (as this is what you *seemed* to be doing in your posts). Thank you for your cooperation!

Lester, I will try to answer your questions. To pause in WinAmp simply click on the Pause button located beside the Play button (or you can just tap the "C" key on your keyboard).

Second, if you want to use Windows Media Player instead of WinAmp, load up Windows Media Player manually (Start/All Programs). Then go to "Tools/Options/File Types" and click on "Select All" and then OK. That should do it for you!

Let me know if you're still having trouble with this.

Dexter, this is the first we've heard of this problem. There is no such restriction built into the system. All sermons are freely available to all visitors (not just a portion of the sermon). Which MP3 player are you using? What's your Internet connection? What computer and browser are you using? Also, have you tried "downloading" the MP3 sermon in its entirety before listening to it? Finally, if there's any kind of program that you think *may* be interfering with the connection (like any "blocking-type" program), I would recommend temporarily disabling it and trying again. I hope you're able to get this going.

Which sermon exactly are you trying to listen to? Perhaps there is a problem with the sermon itself. I will look into it further if you can give me the exact Sermon ID or the full URL to the sermon.

Although we have not officially tested the MP3's from this site on a Pocket PC we have no reason to believe it should not work with the Pocket Windows Media Player. Here are two quick suggestions: (1) Try to play another MP3 file from a different church to see if it works with anything from here.. and (2) Try to see if there's an update to the Media Player for Pocket PC that you can install (or even a different player if available). Hope it works out!

To learn about the true teachings of Roman Catholicism, type in "catholic" in the search box above to find some excellent sermons on the subject.

To Fred, I don't know if you have already taken a look and gone through it, but we have compiled a very useful set of tips and tricks for folks having difficulty listening to sermons. You can get it by going to www.sermonaudio.com/help.

Also, we very highly recommend using the WinAmp (free) MP3 player to listen to the sermons on the site. Please give that a try if you continue to experience trouble with the MS Media Player for whatever reason.

To Olan, usually this problem is attributed to something interfering with the Transfer Agent on your PC. For example, if you have any kind of "firewall" or "blocking" type program running (ie: anti-spyware, NetNanny, etc), please try disabling it temporarily and try again.

To Lester, usually the problem most people run into with the "Transfer Agent" is that there is another program on their computer that is interfering with it. Try temporarily disabling any "blocking" type programs that you may be running (like NetNanny, Norton Firewall, etc) and give it another go.

All sermons are encoded in the MP3 format and should download that way. If you are having difficulties with this, please refer to: www.sermonaudio.com/help

The site is completely free of charge for anyone who wishes to listen to any of the tens of thousands of sermons we have available on the site. I fail to see where the confusion lies.

Melrose, are you referring to not being able to download using the Transfer Agent or not being able to download sermons at all? The Transfer Agent program is only for paying members (either FULL or PLUS). For more information about our services please refer to the About Our Services section of the site.

After much deliberation, we have decided to remove many of the "Bible and Theology" survey topics, discussion groups, and comments from the site. We believe that, on the whole, having such public forums strays from the overall mission and purpose of the site. Instead, it seems to have served the purpose of simply giving easy platform to a widespread of errant views held by anyone and everyone. For those seeking to learn more about various issues in theology, we recommend taking the time to listen to excellent sermons we have freely available on this site.

We hope you will understand our intentions by taking this action and we will simply trust the Lord to keep this site to be a blessing to as many people possible.

For a good sermon on the topic of Bible translations, I would highly recommend starting here (part of a 5-part series):

After receiving numerous complaints regarding this particular thread on the site, we have decided to stop any additional posts to this survey. We believe that on the whole the discussions and exchanges on this particular thread have been un-edifying (to say the least) and in some cases worse. We do not like to lock threads in this manner but we will do so if we feel it is in the site's best interest.

For those who normally make use of these discussion groups, please be aware that what we feel are consistent abuses to these privileges will give us enough warrant to block (without warning) not only threads but individuals from posting in the future. Part of the mission of the site which is to edify the people of God is in jeopardy of being undone by a few who use and abuse these discussion groups in a way they were never intended.

Thank you for your cooperation.

I'm sorry to hear of these troubles. Here are some thoughts.. Are you accessing the site from your house or from a work environment? If from a work environment, perhaps the central computer or router you are going through has a "filter" of sorts on it that's "eating" the cookie before it gets to you? If at home, then it may be another problem. Perhaps in Netscape there's another setting that you've possibly overlooked in regards to the cookie-setting? This problem is almost always a problem where cookies are either being blocked or not being accepted by the local computer/browser. I do not know what else it could be. I hope someone else will add a comment to shed some possible clues.

The quality of the MP3 files may differ from broadcaster to broadcaster. We've outlined a step-by-step tutorial that they should all follow as well as a sample MP3 that they can make quality comparisons with (www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=6723). We try to catch problems like what you are describing and notify the broadcaster of them. But sometimes we will miss some. It may be a good idea to send a short email to the broadcaster(s) whose MP3's manifest these types of problems to let them know of it and rectify the problem on their end.
