Idea: God justifies sinners by His grace apart from works. Self-righteousness trusts in your own works. Therefore give up all sense of pride in yourself, and cry to God for mercy.
Intro: . Jesus gives us a glimpse of God's perspective about how God responds to pride and humility. God will humble those who exult themselves but He will exalt those who humble themselves.

Conc. He will save the needy when they cry, save the poor and those who have no help. Won't you cry to Him for mercy? And having found mercy, won't you rest in Him alone? Won't you entrust your soul to Him who is able to guard your soul through all eternity? May you return home today, knowing that Jesus is your Redeemer, knowing that God has heard your cry for mercy, knowing that you are justified. |
