I. Your Part in Preaching
“Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.” (1 Sam. 3:8–11)
…the Lord was not in the wind…the Lord was not in the earthquake…the Lord was not in the fire…after [came] the sound of a low whisper. (1 Kings 19:11–12)
II. My Part in Preaching (cf. Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 11:7)
“I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from My mouth, you shall give them warning from Me.” (Eze 33:7).
III. God’s Part in Preaching (1 Cor. 2:1-5)
I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. (2 Tim. 4:1–2)
For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s Word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ. (2 Cor. 2:17)
And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the Word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. . (1 Thess. 2:13)
