We begin a new series on the doctrine of Biblical Liberty. In recent history, there has been a question of what liberty the Church and individual Christians possess. These are not new questions. We will begin a series to consider the liberty of the individual Christian in view of the gospel, the spiritual liberty of the Church with Christ as her King, and even the liberty of the State to serve the King of Kings. Throughout the history of the Church, these questions have had to be answered Scripturally, often at the cost of the martyrs' lives. We will begin with an overview of the specific freedom that Jesus gives the Christian, the Church, and the Commonwealth. Galatians 5:1-13. |
