BLOG ON: SERMON Hope In The Resurrection
Ridgefield Park Reformed Presbyterian
J. Bruce Martin
Have you noticed that most people assume that their end will be with God in glory without actually considering what must take place for that to happen? Yet when the subject is life in eternity we ought not to make assumptions but to research the matter carefully and be certain of what will happen.
God, who made the world and everything in it, has told us about the end. Unless Jesus returns first, all of us will die. But when Jesus returns our bodies will be raised from the grave. Then there will be the Day of Judgment in which all must give account of their actions and be assigned their eternal destinies.
Many think they have been ‘good enough’ to be given a passing grade by God so they can enter heaven. The fact is, though, that God has already told us none of us is good enough. So He has provided a substitute, Jesus Christ, who is good enough because He is perfectly righteous. And all who trust in Him as their Master will be delivered from the condemnation they deserve.
That will be a day of horror for many who have made wrong assumptions. Are you ready for that day? Now is the time to prepare for it by confessing your sin and turning to serve Jesus Christ. We want you to be ready for that awesome day.
