Sermon:
The Mystery of Godliness
Rev Maurice Roberts
1
comment
“ Great Sermon! ”
Reverend Maurice Roberts explains 1 Timothy 3:16 and the mystery of godliness--the truths that only God can reveal to us through the Holy Bible: "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." (1) God was manifest in the flesh as Jesus Christ the Messiah and King. (2) Jesus was resurrected from the dead by the Holy Spirit of God. Jesus proved He was the Son of God and one and only way to the Father in heaven. (3) Jesus was seen of angels, announced by angels, ministered to by angels, and accompanied by angels into heaven. (4) Jesus was preached first to Jews and then to Gentiles. All nations heard the gospel of Jesus Christ on the day of Pentecost when the New Testament age began. (5) Jesus is believed on by disciples in nations all over the world due to church missionaries who preach the gospel and baptize believers. (6) After the resurrection, Jesus Christ ascended into heaven in His glorified body. Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven and interceding for us as our high priest and mediator by the power of the Holy Spirit. God in three Persons is at work in the NT age of grace and the church.

Sermon:
Praying When the Soul is Fainting
Rev. John Greer
1
comment
“ Powerful sermon and powerful prayer! ”
I do not have the widow's mite to feature this sermon today, but I pray that someone else will do so on my behalf for His glory, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16).

“ Very thoughtful sermon ”
Great call for God's people to discern the greatest need of the hour for the glory of God and his kingdom. "(14) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Signs of The End
Dr. Peter Masters

comment
“ Times preceding Christ's second coming ”
A very vivid description is presented of the signs of the end preceding the second coming of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. "How near are we to these events, and how should they affect us now?" "So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors" (Matthew 24:33). "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine" (2 Timothy 4:2).

“ Great Sermon! ”
Dr. Peter Masters is greatly helped by the power of the holy Spirit to explain why we should not love the world: the world vanisheth away. Wonderful to share in the fragrance of our Lord while sitting under the preaching of God's holy Word. Cherished. Much appreciated.

A Prayer for Such a Time as This
Rev Malcolm Watts

“ Faint hope--greater love ”
Ester went in unto the king when it was not the law. She went boldly to the throne of grace and pleaded with the king to save her people. The king answered and wrote a decree. Faint hope lays down her life to save her soul. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:3).

Conquering Corrupt Thoughts
Rev Malcolm Watts

comment
“ Sound biblical advice and counsel ”
Reverend Malcolm Watts provides sound biblical advice and counsel here that is applicable to every saved and born again believer in the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Daily morning Bible reading, memorization and meditation is key. Praying without ceasing helps. Singing and listening to the hymns helps too. The mind and the heart are connected, and the mind of Christ is our first, one and only line of defense. "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:" (Phil. 2:5). "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life" (Proverbs 4:23).

“ A most uplifting sermon! ”
This is a wonderful sermon on the precious promise of Christ's return: constant comfort escalating through the Word of God to the sweet consolation, "rest with us," (2 Thess. 1:7) and "we pray always for you" (2 Thess. 1:11), especially endearing after praying for you this very morning. "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift" (2 Cor. 9:15).

“ His Coming for the Saints ”
Pastor Denis Lyle explains the mystery of the blessed hope, the greatest comfort after salvation, the rapture of the church, and the second coming of Jesus Christ, what Satan does not want doubting souls to believe: Maranatha, the Lord is coming, for His saints, and His return is imminent, "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump" (1 Cor. 15:52). "(16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (18) Wherefore comfort one another with these words" (1 Thess. 4:16-18). Truly, the mystery of the blessed hope, the greatest comfort after salvation, the rapture of the church, and the second coming of Jesus Christ are for the saved and born again believers in the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, His saints. As sheep of the good shepherd, we rest assured in these precious truths and promises. May the gravity of these precious truths and promises precipitate a renewed fervency in the church and greater exploits for the cause of Christ, for the days are evil and the time is short.

Sermon:
Being in the wrong place
Rev. Wesley Graham
1
comment
“ Biblical principles ”
Reverend Wesley Graham presents a series of Biblical principles in this touching message about God's intervention in the life of the prophet Elijah after he ran for his life and then hid in a cave. First, God is sovereign and knows where Man is at every single moment. Second, Man has the capacity to think and the responsibility to make decisions about what to do and where to go. Third, Man can become fearful, take his eyes off God, get distracted, and land himself and other people out of the will of God if he is not careful (i.e. prayerful). Nevertheless, when Man runs for his life and lands himself in a tight spot, God mercifully pursues him, kindly gives him something to eat, tenderly speaks to him, privately gives him some specific directions and instructions, and then marvelously restores him in truth and righteousness, if he is willing to be still, listen, trust and obey. Clearly, God is good and irresistible in his love and grace. Clearly, if you should ever find yourself in a cave situation one day, be sure to pray and wait upon the LORD GOD JEHOVAH for further instructions, especially before venturing out into the wilderness.

Lovely in her Husband's Eyes
James Russell Miller

“ Fidelity to Christ ”
A lovely reminder of the blessings of holy matrimony, not of this world, love from God, going from this life into eternity, from everlasting to everlasting. Proverbs 31:11-12 (11) The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. (12) She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Sermon:
Why We Do Not Faint
Stephen Holland
1
comment
“ Good words of comfort and assurance ”
Much thanks and appreciation for this thoughtful sermon on "why we do not go under." Ultimately, God spared us from hell, "Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched" (Mark 9:44, 46, 48). "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day" (2 Cor. 4:16). "(12) Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. (13) Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. (14) Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. (15) Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. (16) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:12-16).

“ Good Question! ”
In the providence of God, I listened to the entire exposition on the question of "May We Use Instruments In Worship?" Good question! Yes, we may use instruments in worship. Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. Psalms 51:15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. Hebrews 13:15-16 (15) By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. (16) But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Yes, God created human hearts, mouths and lips for his praise, worship and adoration. Christian worship, hymns and spiritual songs distinguish believers from non-believers and not all saved and born again believers agree on how to worship God in Spirit and in truth, but one thing is for certain: God causes a song to spring from the heart of one of his sheep in order to hold, keep, comfort, and cheer him. Praise and thanks be to God for holy songs that spring from t
